Horatio rolled over on the bed reaching for Speed. He woke up when his hand landed on a cold empty space instead of the warm body of his lover. He sat up, his eyes tracking through the bedroom. Speed was sitting at the window seat staring out into the night.

“Why aren’t you in bed?” Horatio yawned.

“Couldn’t sleep,” Speed’s voice was soft.

Horatio frowned; he hadn’t heard that tone in a while, “The case too much for you?”

“No,” Speed snapped. He looked down, “I’m sorry.”

Horatio shoved the covers back and got out of bed, “No need.”

“It’s just brought up memories,” Speed looked over at him. “Plus…”

“I noticed the calendar,” Horatio sat next to him. “Next week is…”

“Yeah,” Speed looked back out the window. “I freaked on Ryan today, did he tell you?”

“No,” Horatio held his hand out letting Speed see it before placing it on his knee in comfort.

“We were processing the scene,” Speed tensed then relaxed quickly into the familiar touch. “My back was to the door…I didn’t hear him call me and he set his hand on my shoulder. I jumped away and pulled my gun.” Speed shifted so he could lean against Horatio. “I don’t know who was more scared, him or me.”

“Don’t be hard on yourself,” Horatio wrapped his arms around him. “The case was difficult for obvious reasons and in the time frame…”

“I’m allowed a freak out moment,” Speed chuckled.

Horatio grinned, returning the chuckle, “Did you notice Eric following you?”

“Yeah,” Speed smiled. “He’s gone into protective older brother mode – though he’s younger than me.”

“We’re all feeling the affect,” Horatio kissed his temple.

“H,” Speed moved away and stood up. He stood in front of Horatio, “I want you to make love to me.”

Horatio stared into the serious brown eyes, searching. “Are you sure? Are you ready?”

Speed nodded, “I want you. I want to only know your touch.”

Horatio once again searched the expressive brown eyes, seeing the sincerity, passion, and some fear. Horatio grinned, “Now?”

Speed laughed, “I’m a bit tired and wrung out.” Speed held his hands out pulling Horatio up and into his arms. “Romantic weekend away?”

“I want to love you here,” Horatio kissed him softly. “In this bed we’ve shared.”

Speed swallowed his emotions, “I love you.”

“I love you, too.” Horatio kissed him deeply. Taking a bit more control of the kiss, opening Speed’s mouth and sucking on his tongue. Speed moaned and leaned into the kiss letting Horatio have control, trusting him with his body, mind and soul.

Over the past six months their relationship had grown and strengthened. Speed had practically moved back in with him, still having the loft apartment as a cover. They were starting to discuss finding a place of their own. While the emotional aspects of the relationship jumped with leaps and bounds the physical aspect of their relationship was progressing slowly.

Horatio had let Speed set the pace, sometimes pushing him past an obstacle, but ultimately giving Speed the control. Small kisses turned to making out on the couch. Speed slowly began to explore – touching Horatio hesitantly then letting Horatio touch him.

Making out led to heavy petting, Horatio had blushed like a teenager when he came in his pants. Speed just grinned at him, asking if he wanted him to throw them in the wash. Horatio laughed when he realized Speed was in the same predicament.

Speed had been more relaxed after that moment. He let Horatio strip him. Letting him touch, caress, and pleasure him with his hands. He freaked a bit, but Horatio talked him through it letting his voice calm Speed down. Later, Speed’s tentative touches on his own hard member almost set him off, but he kept a firm clasp of his control. He let Speed take his time and explore. Still to this day Horatio can’t look at Speed’s hands with out remembering that night.

Horatio was content with the aspects of their sex life. Speed easily opened up to him, taking pleasure at rattling Horatio’s nerves. Whispering things in his ears at work, a hand caressing over his crotch as he walked by – Speed slipped out of his shell as his confidence returned. He began to enjoy his body once again and enjoyed Horatio’s as well.

One night he had pushed Horatio up against their bedroom door and dropped to his knees going down on him. Speed later in the dark whispered that the one thing Richard never forced him do was to give him a blow job. His chuckle was dry and sinister; as he told Horatio that Richard was afraid he would bite. He explained that he was thankful, that this one thing he could give Horatio without it being tainted. Horatio held him close that night, cursing Richard and once again figuring ways for him to die in prison.

Horatio pulled back his eyes locking with Speed, “We’ll turn the pagers off, take the phones off the hook, and ignore the door.”

Speed smiled, “I won’t lie and say I’m not nervous.”

“I wouldn’t believe you if you did,” Horatio led him back to the bed. “We got the weekend ahead of us. We take it slow, you set the pace.”

“I want this,” Speed curled into Horatio’s arms. “I want everything with you. I will not let him have any control in my life.”

“I just want you to be sure your ready,” Horatio held him close.

“I’m ready,” Speed muttered his eyes closing. “I’ve fantasized about it.”

“And what happens in these fantasies?” Horatio looked down grinning at the sight. Speed was sound asleep. “We’ll just have to makes those fantasies come true.”

Stetler looked at the FBI agent in shock, “Excuse me.”

“You heard me,” Agent Jack Hawks crossed his arms over his chest.

“Exactly what does he have that the Feds need?” Stetler demanded.

“Information about his uncles importing/exporting business,” Hawks explained.

“There is no way in hell I’m telling Horatio Caine that Speedle’s rapist and kidnapper is being released because he’s testifying for you.” Stetler wasn’t suicidal.

“That’s the point,” Hawks leaned closer to Stetler. “You will not tell him or Speedle. As far as they are concerned Terrance is still in prison.”

“And what if he goes after Speedle?” Stetler demanded. “He threatened to grab him again.”

“He won’t, we got him under control,” Hawks moved for the door.

“Like you had Raymond under control,” Stetler shot back.

Hawks turned and glared at Stetler, “Count yourself lucky that you even know.”

“You had to tell me,” Stetler growled. “I discovered your little plot.”

“This is important,” Hawks assured him. “His testimony could put a major drug trafficker behind bars.”

“Tell that to Speedle when he wakes up with nightmares,” Stetler stepped up to him. “You better hope to God your boy stays away from Speedle. One whiff he’s near by, I’ll let it slip to Caine.”

Stetler stormed out of the conference room and out of the Federal building. He was pissed. He knew he should tell Caine. He knew deep down Terrance would go after Speedle. He would have to wait for Terrance to make a move. If they suspected Terrance, Caine would find out he’s out of prison. Stetler smiled, if the Feds thought Caine was a dog with bone about Raymond. They hadn’t seen anything yet.

Speed moaned in pleasure arching up into Horatio’s touch. He opened his eyes, watching as Horatio swallowed him down. His head thrashed on the pillow, incoherent words coming from his mouth. Horatio had been keeping him on edge for hours, slowly teasing him with soft touches and kisses.

He had come home from the lab, giddy with anticipation for the weekend. He stepped into the house, surprised at the transformation. Candles were on every available surface, illuminating the room with a soft glow. Horatio stood by the fireplace, wearing jeans and a silk shirt, barefoot – it was Speed’s favorite outfit. A picnic lunch on the living room floor – tantalizing foods, good wine and soft music. The caresses started there. Horatio took his time, wanting Speed to feel relaxed and comfortable.

“Damn it Horatio,” Speed groaned as Horatio backed off once again leaving him on the edge.

“The night has just started,” Horatio laid his body out on Speed’s. “Is this to much?”

“No,” Speed wrapped his legs and arms around him enjoying the feel of Horatio’s body flushed against his.

Horatio kissed him easily, nipping at his lips, down his chin, sucked on his throat a bit before heading to his chest. Speed let him go his arms and legs spread wide as Horatio began his teasing once again. “I will seek revenge,” Speed vowed.

“Looking forward to it,” Horatio grinned.

“H,” Speed voice quivered.

Horatio looked up, “I want you to open your eyes.” Horatio waited till Speed’s brown eyes were looking directly at him. “Now listen to my voice.”

Speed nodded, he spread his legs giving Horatio better access. He took calm deep breaths relaxing as Horatio touched him. His eyes shuttered close, his head fell back as Horatio slipped a finger into him. “Relax Speed.” Speed cleared his mind, focused on the sensation, letting his body feel what Horatio was doing. Slowly Horatio prepared him, taking his time, letting Speed adjust to each finger.

“Please Horatio,” Speed begged. “I want you.”

“Shh…” Horatio leaned forward taking Speed’s mouth into a passionate kiss. “What would make you more comfortable?”

“I need to see you,” Speed looked at him.

Horatio kissed him again, slipping Speed’s legs into position. “I love you,” Horatio held Speed’s eyes as he entered him. Speed sobbed in emotional release as Horatio filled him completely. “Speed?”

“I’m fine,” Speed looked at Horatio, “More than fine. I love you.” Speed arched up groaning at the sensation. “Now do something.”

Horatio laughed slightly, “My pleasure.”

Speed let the tears fall down his cheeks. He felt as if Horatio had shattered his soul and put it back together again. He felt alive and whole. He met each of Horatio’s thrusts, his hands gripping Horatio’s arms. Horatio’s took Speed’s erection into his hands and pumped him in time. Speed cried out as he went over the edge. Horatio soon followed burying himself into Speed as he came.

“Thank you,” Speed breathed as Horatio shifted so he could take Speed into his arms.

“It’s me who should be thanking you,” Horatio ran his hand through Speed’s hair. “Sleep, we have a busy weekend ahead of us.”

“I have to extract my revenge,” Speed muttered falling asleep.

~*~

Alexx grinned at Speed, “You’re cheerful this morning.”

“Had a good weekend,” He blushed just a bit.

Alexx’s smiled widened, “I’m happy for you.”

“What do we have?” Speed looked at the body laid out on the table.

“Gunshot wound,” She looked over at the body. “I packed his clothes, and found some interesting things in his hair, and sent the bullet to ballistics.”

“Thanks Alexx,” Speed grabbed the bags of evidence and headed for the door. “Lunch later today?”

“Wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Alexx waved as he walked out of the morgue.

“You got a package,” Eric grinned at him, as he pushed the white box with red ribbon around it towards him.

He looked up at Eric, “It’s not my birthday.”

“I didn’t get it,” Eric explained. “It was here when I got here. Looks like Horatio might have gotten you something.”

“He wouldn’t put it at work,” Speed pulled the ribbon unfurling the bow. He ran the ribbon through his fingers, “Silk.” He shrugged setting it down and opened the lid. Pulling back the tissue paper, he got a glimpse of the gift.

“Speed?” Eric panicked as Speed jerked his hand away and backed up. “Speed?” He moved towards his friend.

“DON’T TOUCH ME!” Speed yelled stepping back. His eyes were glued to the box.

Horatio looked down from his office, seeing Speed in distress, he ran out of his office and into the lab. “Speed?”

“Did you send that!?” Speed pointed at the box.

Horatio looked at it not recognizing it, “No. I wouldn’t send anything here.”

“Oh God!” Speed’s pained whispered tore at Horatio as he watched Speed crumble to the ground.

Horatio moved forward kneeling in front of him, not touching, recognizing the defensive position. “Speed,” He reached out Speed fell into his arms. Horatio turned towards Eric “What’s in the box?”

Eric pulled on some gloves and looked into the box. His shoulders went rigid, “Beige silk pajamas.” He pulled out the top and looked at the label. “Same brand.”

Horatio rocked Speed in his arms, “I want the box printed…”

“There’s a note,” Eric held it up, reading out loud, “Remember how the silk felt against your skin?”

Speed jumped up, barely making it to the sink before throwing up. “H?”

“He can’t touch you, he’s in jail. He’s just playing with your mind.” Horatio rubbed his back.

“What’s going on?” Ryan, Alexx and Calleigh ran into the lab.

Alexx spotted the package, “That isn’t…”

“It is,” Eric’s voice was hard.

“I’ll find out who sent it for him,” Ryan stated as he headed back out of the lab.

“Speedy,” Alexx stepped up to him. “Why don’t I take you home or better yet come home with me. Jamie’s got a bake sale tomorrow, and your cookies alone would fund the new soccer team.”

Speed lifted his head off the counter and looked over at her, “Cookies?”

She smiled at him, “Jamie asked for yours specifically.”

“Thank you,” Speed stood up.

“Go,” Horatio rubbed his lower back. “I’ll feel better if you’re with someone.”

Alexx took Speed’s arm and led him out of the lab, “I’m thinking chocolate chip or maybe the oatmeal raisin…”

Horatio thank God for one Alexx Woods, “I’m going to make a phone call.”

“I’ll help Eric process the package,” Calleigh watched as Horatio stormed out of the lab. “The nerve of that bastard,” Calleigh growled.

“We’ll tell receptionist that any packages for Speed go to Horatio,” Eric commented. “Oh God.”

“What?” Calleigh looked in the box. At the bottom was a picture of Speed laid out and tied to the bed. “How did he get that in the package?” Calleigh asked.

“Someone has photos?” Eric asked. “I’ll dust the photograph.”

“I’ll tell Horatio,” Calleigh walked out into the hallway running into Stetler. “Sorry.”

“What’s going on?” He looked into the lab, “Where’s Speedle?”

“He got a package from Terrance, silk pajamas like the ones he made him wear. Plus a note and photograph,” Calleigh explained. “I’m going to talk to Horatio…”

Stetler growled low and took off down the hallway towards the stairs to Horatio’s office. “SHIT!” He stepped into Horatio’s office, “Caine…”

“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN HE’S BEEN RELEASED?” A rarely out of control Caine screamed into the phone.

Calleigh paused at the door, “WHAT?”

“Damn right I’m going to get to the bottom of this,” He slammed the phone down.

“Feds,” Stetler simply stated.

“What?” Horatio demanded. “You knew!”

“They told me they would keep him on a tight leash. I warned them, that the moment I heard he was sniffing around I would tell you, and they could go to hell.” Stetler looked at Horatio. “Look we don’t like each other, but the focus is protecting Speedle.”

“Why?” Horatio’s voice was hard.

“His uncles export/import business,” Stetler shrugged, “Seems he’s trafficking drugs.”

“So they let him out?” Calleigh’s mouth dropped. “What about the threat’s to Speed?”

“They didn’t see it as a true threat,” Stetler stated. “They claim he’s under control.”

“Control my ass,” Horatio stepped up to Stetler. “You should have told me.”

“I’m lucky to know,” Stetler didn’t back down. “I stumbled onto their little operation. If you noticed, I’ve had tighter security on Speedle.” Horatio paused remembering the extra cops at Speed’s scenes lately. “Like I said Caine, we don’t like each other but Speedle is a cop, and we protect our own.”

Horatio nodded, “The Feds name?”

Stetler grinned, “I warned him, Agent Jack Hawks.”

“Calleigh get Ryan on the package, I want you or Eric over at Alexx’s. I don’t want Speed to know yet – I’ll do that.” Horatio headed out of his office, then turned toward Stetler, “Rick thanks for watching out for Speed.”

Stetler nodded. “I’ll make sure everyone knows to keep their eyes out.”

Horatio nodded and left the lab, heading over to the Federal Building. He was really beginning to hate the Feds.

Speed absently stirred the contents of the bowl, not really paying attention to anything around him. His thoughts were dark and chaotic.

“Speedy,” Alexx called out trying to get his attention. “Timothy.”

Speed jerked his head, gave her a small smile, “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be,” She handed him the chocolate chips. “Just wanted to add the chips, you can continue stirring now.”

Speed laughed lightly, “Why do you think he ….”

“He’s a sick bastard,” Alexx took the bowl out of his hands and set it down on the counter. “He wants to remind you. To make sure he is still in your thoughts and affecting your life.”

“I’ve worked hard to get him out of my life,” Speed sat down at the kitchen table. “I … God I hate him.”

Alexx held the tears in, “Then don’t let him in.”

“How?” He looked up at her eyes pleading with her.

“By loving Horatio and letting him love you.” Alexx sat across from him.

“Thanks,” Speed laid his hand on hers. “You’ve been a good friend.”

“You’re my Speedy,” She smiled at him, patting his hand. “Cookies?”

“Fine,” Speed stood up and grabbed the bowl. “I expect to see this new soccer team I’m funding.” Alexx laughed as she poured in the chocolate chips.

“Lieutenant Caine,” Agent Hawks gave him a false smile as he walked up to Horatio. “What brings you down here?”

“Richard Terrance,” Caine slipped off his glasses.

“What about him?” Hawks kept his gaze steady.

“He just sent Timothy Speedle a package,” Horatio’s eyes narrowed at Hawks. “And when I called the warden to find out who Terrance has been talking to, he informed me that Terrance was out on parole.”

“Lieutenant…” Hawks tried to explain.

“Look Agent Hawks,” Horatio’s voice lowered becoming calm and deadly. “If he takes one step near Speed I will not hesitate to put a bullet between his eyes. So if you want your witness keep him out of my sight.”

Horatio turned and left Hawks gaping as he left the building. Horatio climbed into the hummer, seething with anger. He slammed his hand into the steering wheel, “FUCK!” The very idea that the bastard was out, scared him to death. He picked up his cell phone and dialed Eric’s number.

“Delko,” Eric answered.

“You with Speed?” Horatio asked.

“Not yet,” Eric sighed. “Traffic is a bitch. I’m almost there another fifteen minutes.”

“I’m on my way,” Horatio shut the phone and started up the Hummer. He was severely tempted to take Speed and join Ray and Yelina in Brazil.

~*~

Eric cursed at the traffic, “It’s a stalled car, and you’ve all seen it! Move on people!” He sighed in relief when the traffic cleared and he was on his way towards Alexx’s place. He thought about calling but didn’t want to scare Speed. After seeing those pajamas he knew Speed would be jumpy, and if he told them to be careful Speed would most definitely go into a panic attack. He had seen one to many of those, this past year.

Eric took some deep breaths to calm himself down. It killed him to see his best friend going through this nightmare, jumpy at shadows and loud noises. Not able to place a hand on his friend for comfort. Slowly he watched his friend return. The smart ass remarks, a touch on the shoulder, and the confidence returning. Having Horatio in his life had helped Speed tremendously.

He pulled up to the house, a sense of dread coming over him. He jumped out of the Hummer and ran up the walk. The front door was open, cursing he drew his gun and eased his way up the porch steps and into the house.

“Miami-Dade Police,” Eric called out. His heart hammered in his chest, as he moved through the living room. He slowly went down the hallway checking each room, making his way back up to the front of the house. Sweat poured off his brow when he finally entered the kitchen.

“Alexx,” Eric fell down to his knees grabbing a towel to stop the blood flow from her side.

“Eric,” Her voice was pain filled. “It was Terrance…”

“Hold on,” Eric grabbed his phone. “We have an officer down, I need rescue at 1145 Ocean Way.”

“He took Speedy,” Alexx gasped Eric’s hand.

~*~

Horatio slammed the Hummer into park and jumped up the car and ran up the lawn to the front door. Eric met him on the porch.

“What the hell happened?” Horatio demanded.

“I got here, the door was open.” Eric looked down Alexx’s blood on his shirt and pants. “Alexx was wounded in the kitchen gunshot to the side, no sign of Speed.”

“Get Calleigh and Ryan down here,” Horatio stepped into the house.

“On their way,” Eric informed him. “Alexx said it was Terrance. What the hell is he doing out?”

“Feds,” Horatio growled.

“We got here as soon as we could,” Calleigh walked into the house with her kit.

“Calleigh I want you to process the house, Eric take the yard and driveway, and Ryan go around see if the neighbors saw anything.” Horatio ordered them.

“Right on it H,” Eric headed outside towards his vehicle.

“Do we have a picture of Terrance?” Ryan asked as he headed for the door.

“Have Tripp scan one over to you,” Horatio informed him. Ryan nodded and headed out.

“We’ll find him,” Calleigh laid a hand on his arm.

“Yes, we will,” Horatio looked at her. She restrained herself from backing up. Horatio’s eyes were cold and deadly – she knew Terrance would not live through this. “Where are you going?” She asked as he headed for the door.

“Hunting,” Horatio slipped on his glasses and stalked to his Hummer.

~*~

Stetler stood at the receptionist desk his eyes glued on Agent Hawks. Word had already gotten around the lab; Terrance was out and had taken Speed. Stetler felt a sick thrill at watching Hawks squirm. Even the sweet receptionist, who wouldn’t hurt a fly or say a mean thing to anyone, was glaring at him.

Stetler walked up to the Agent, “I warned you.”

“The information he provided would shut down a huge trade,” Hawks argued back.

“At the cost of Detective Speedle?” Stetler demanded.

Hawks sneered at Stetler, “Sacrifices had to be made.”

Stetler stepped back as he watched Caine approach, “Not by my detective.” Hawks turned on his heel to see Horatio standing behind him sunglasses in his hand, “No life is expendable. Where is he?”

“We can’t tell you that,” Hawks informed him.

“You mean you don’t know,” Horatio looked at him sideways. “He has Speed, shot my ME, and you don’t know where your witness is at.”

“He disappeared,” Hawks held his ground.

“You mean he slipped his leash,” Stetler commented. “Where would he go?”

“To his uncle,” Horatio cocked his head eyeing Hawks. “He would have the access to get Terrance and Speed out of the country.”

“He’s our witness, and his uncle our case.” Hawks stepped towards Horatio.

“He has my CSI,” Horatio slipped on his glasses and left.

~*~

Ryan walked back up to the house, “According to all the neighbors, no one saw anything.”

“I’ve found fingerprints, but I would bet they are Alexx’s and her family,” Calleigh commented. “There wasn’t a big mess in the kitchen. I’m thinking he walked in and surprised them.”

“Got Speed to cooperate by threatening Alexx,” Eric suggested. “As he pulls Speed out of the house, shoots Alexx?”

“But then Speed would struggle, if he saw Alexx injured,” Ryan argued.

“Chloroform,” Calleigh commented. “In the first trial Speed said he used Chloroform on him.”

“So he pulls Speed away from Alexx, holds a gun on her to keep Speed docile,” Eric looked around the kitchen seeing it in his mind, “Shoots Alexx and quickly grabs Speed placing the cloth over his mouth.”

“Speed’s a big guy,” Calleigh pointed out. “It would be difficult to subdue him and Alexx.”

“But Speed is terrified of him,” Ryan pointed out. “This was his worst nightmare come true.”

“So he threatens Alexx,” Eric nodded his head. “Speed’s probably scared and doesn’t want her injured so goes with Terrance. Terrance shoots Alexx and before Speed could react out of his own fear and shock, Terrance subdues him with Chloroform.”

“Let’s get back to the lab,” Calleigh grabbed her kit. “See if Horatio found anything.”

“I can’t believe this is happening,” Eric shook his head. “Speed was just starting to get his life back together.”

“And after we kill the bastard, and get Speed back, we will help him get it back once again.” Calleigh eyes flashed with certainty.

~*~

Horatio looked over the paperwork the Feds had on Paul Terrance. He looked up with his three CSI’s filtered into the lab. “What do you have?”

“Nothing,” Calleigh sighed. “All prints were Alexx’s, Speed’s, or her families.”

“No trace elements on the driveway,” Eric informed him.

“And the neighbors saw nothing,” Ryan concluded, “You?”

“Paul Terrance’s import/export business,” Horatio passed around the file folders. “He’s got a dozen warehouses up and down the Florida coast.”

“Says here he owns his own plane,” Ryan looked up. “If Terrance gets Speed out of the country…”

“He won’t,” Horatio shook his head. “He knows we are looking for him. It’s a game with him. He’s probably getting off at the fact he’s under our noses.”

“He probably thinks he’s still protected by the Feds,” Eric suggested.

“According to Agent Hawks, he is.” Horatio growled.

“He kidnaps a police officer and they’re still protecting him?!” Calleigh practically screamed.

“They want Paul Terrance and will sell Speed’s soul for it,” Horatio’s voice was hard and deadly.

“So when we go in, it’s without the Feds,” Eric stated firmly.

“Stetler is at the Chief’s office now,” Horatio explained. “From what I’ve heard the Chief and Mayor are ready to go after the Feds.”

“Any ideas?” Calleigh asked. “I don’t know where to start.”

“Mr. and Mrs. Terrance,” Horatio looked up at Calleigh. “I’ve got an officer bringing them in. Plus question any of his friends, and prison inmates.”

“I’ll go out to the prison,” Eric offered.

“Tripp is already on his way,” Horatio informed him. “I want you and Ryan to go through these and list out any potential place he could be. Calleigh you will help me talk with the Terrance’s.”

~*~

“Why are we here, Lieutenant Caine?” Mrs. Terrance glared at the redhead. “You put our son in jail, and sued us. What do you want now?”

“Your son made a deal with the Feds to turn state’s evidence against your brother-in-law as long as they let him out of jail.” Horatio looked at Mrs. Terrance coldly. “He’s taken Timothy Speedle.”

“Good for him,” Mrs. Terrance sneered. “That detective lied. Are you sure he just didn’t run off with our son.”

Calleigh leaned forward over the table, “He shot one of our co-workers while kidnapping Detective Speedle. You do not seem to understand that your son only cares about himself? He was willing to turn your brother-in-law in on charges just so he could get out and go after Detective Speedle.”

“Your brother Mr. Terrance,” Horatio watched as Mr. Terrance face fell. “He handed him over to the feds without a backwards glance.”

“For what?” Mr. Terrance asked.

“Gregory!” Mrs. Terrance yelled. “It’s a set up. They just want to hurt Richard.”

“Damn it woman,” He turned on his wife. “Get your head out of your ass. Richard tortured that detective. What has Paul done?”

“According to your son, traffic drugs through is export/import business,” Horatio eyed Gregory Terrance.

Terrance’s mouth dropped, “Paul!? No way! He exports/imports clothing. He’s avid against drugs, hates the stuff.”

“Did you son ever work for Paul?” Horatio asked glancing towards Calleigh.

“Summers since he was sixteen…” Gregory paled, “Oh God.”

“Calleigh check into it,” Horatio turned back towards Gregory. “What else do you know?”

“Gregory, stop this,” Marge glared at her husband. “Richard is a good boy and never did any of the things these people accused him of. He told me. That the detective came on to him, wanted him to take him away from his life.”

“Ma’am,” Horatio turned towards the wife. “Timothy Speedle spent a week in the hospital recovering from wounds inflicted by your son. He’s still in therapy dealing with the torture, physical and mental.”

“He yelled rape, when….” Marge stammered.

“Marge,” Gregory’s look shut his wife up. “I know you don’t want to believe Richard could do this, but he did. If you actually looked at the evidence, listened to the detective, instead of blindly following him you would have seen it. He was in our house,” Gregory yelled. “You knew he was in our house and you did nothing.”

Horatio looked down at the table. It had come out during the civil trial. Mr. Terrance had been out on business for the past month, not finding about his son’s arrest till he got back. Speed’s lawyer discovered that Mrs. Terrance knew Richard had Speed locked in their basement, and did nothing. She stated on the stand that Richard had told her that the detective was into kinky games so she ignored Speed’s scream for help.

“Richard told me…” Marge began to cry. Horatio almost felt pity for her. The realization of what her son had done was finally sinking in.

“Richard lied,” Gregory turned back to Horatio. “What can I do to help?”

“Get Paul to come in with his books, make sure he brings a good lawyer,” Horatio informs him. “Also I need the addresses of all the places he could take Detective Speedle.”

“What will happen to him?” Gregory asked. “He’s still my son.”

“At this moment we’re concerned in finding him,” Horatio stated. “Once he’s in custody we will see what happens.”

“I’ll get that list to you,” Gregory stood up pulling his sobbing wife out of the room. “I’ll talk to Paul.”

Horatio slumped into the chair, ‘Hold on Speed.’

~*~

“What the hell is Paul Terrance doing in your interrogation room?” Agent Hawks demanded stalking up to Horatio.

“Helping with my investigation,” Horatio turned placing his hands on his hips. “I’ve called your director. It seems you’ve stepped outside the office on this one. Paul Terrance is no trafficker…”

“I have his books,” Hawks got into Horatio’s face.

“You have Richard’s books,” Horatio stepped forward. “He played you. He was the one trafficking the drugs, and now my CSI is in jeopardy.”

“You’re interfering with my investigation,” Hawks yelled.

“You put your career above my detective’s life,” Horatio got into Hawks’ face. “I will see you go down as an accessory.” He moved away from the agent and headed towards his office.

He knew he needed to calm down, losing it wasn’t going to help Speed. He slumped into his chair, his thoughts turning towards the weekend; Speed’s look of ecstasy as they made love, how he opened himself to Horatio trusting him with his body and soul.

“H,” Eric stood at the door a package in his hand. “It came for you.”

Horatio stared at the package, “Let’s get it into the lab.”

~*~

“No prints on the package or the tape,” Eric informed everyone. “But we know who sent it.”

“He left a note,” Ryan rolled his eyes.

Horatio handed the tape to Tyler, “What is on this tape stays in here.” Everyone nodded.

Tyler looked at the consol with dread he really didn’t want to know what was on the tape. He clicked on play and looked up at the screen.

Calleigh gasped at the sight. Speed hands were handcuffed over his head to a bed. He had a blindfold over his eyes, but visible tear tracks were on his cheeks. There was blood on the corner of his mouth and bruising starting to form on the side of his face. His chest was bare, red marks were forming along his sides and stomach. Clamps were on his nipples a chain between them.

“He’s beautiful isn’t he?” Richard leaned into the picture. They watched as Speed jerked his head listening. “So Lieutenant did you get a taste? Did you enjoy him while I was away?” Speed groaned shifting away from Richard. “He knows he’s mine.”

Calleigh wiped the tears away from her face, cringing at Speed’s scream in pain, “Bastard.”

“This is the last look you will get of him,” Richard grinned. “We’re going to disappear and live happily ever after.” Richard leaned over and forcefully kissed Speed. Speed jerked away struggling against Richard. “Say goodbye Timmy.”

Speed sobbed, “Please let me go.”

“You’re mine,” Richard stroked Speed’s crotch. “Say goodbye to the Lieutenant.”

Speed took deep breaths, the sound harsh to everyone’s ears. “Mon amour, par l’eau. Le bateau de croisière est allé par un bon nombre de chiens aboyant – veuillez trouver me.”

Richard turned on Speed, backhanding him across the face. “What did you say?”

Speed spat at him, “I told him he was my love that my soul and body belonged to him and no other.”

Richard growled, he jumped off the bed, Speed screamed in pain as the tape went black.

Horatio grinned, “Speed just told us where he was.”

“I didn’t know the two of you spoke French,” Tyler stated a bit shocked.

“Oui monsieur, now we have a detective to find,” Horatio moved out of the room. “Eric check out what cruise ship left the harbor and when. Calleigh locate all dog parks, pounds, anything that would have a lot of dogs in one area that would be near the shipping lanes. Ryan pull up all properties owned by Terrance’s specifically by the harbor.”

~*~

Stetler moved up next to Horatio, “How did you find this place?”

“Speed told us on the tape that he heard a cruise ship go by and lots of dogs barking.” Horatio pulled his gun.

“How did he tell you in front of Terrance,” Stetler looked at him.

“In plain French,” Horatio nodded for the officers to move forward. “This is the only property Terrance owns near the water, there’s a pound less than a mile up the street, and two cruise ships left for the open sea this afternoon.”

Eric held up the directional mike, “We’ll see who’s in there in a second.”

Richard’s voice was heard in the headphones, “I wouldn’t have to hurt you if you behaved Timmy.”

Eric ripped off the headphones, “It’s him.”

“Let’s go,” Horatio moved out just a few steps ahead of the officers. Horatio tapped his earpiece, “Calleigh is the back covered?”

“Covered,” Calleigh answered. She moved forward with Tripp and half dozen officers.

Horatio nodded to the officers, they used a battery ram to break down the door. SWAT stormed the room guns drawn covering the room. Horatio and Stetler moved in. A commotion could be heard upstairs.

“Horatio!” Speed’s voice yelled out.

Horatio moved for the stairs, Stetler and Eric a few steps behind him. The three men broke into the bedroom. “Freeze! Miami-Dade Police! Let him go Terrance.”

“He’s mine,” Richard held Speed to him a gun to his temple. Speed was still blindfolded; his head was trained towards Horatio.

“Let him go,” Horatio moved forward.

“If I can’t have him…” The gun dug into Speed’s temple.

Speed jerked his head back slamming it into Richard’s chin. He elbowed him in the stomach then dove away from him. Richard pulled the gun up aiming it at Speed.

“Don’t do it!” Horatio leveled his gun.

Richard grinned at Horatio his finger pulling tightening on the trigger. Shots rang out in the room. Horatio looked over at Stetler who lowered his gun.

Horatio nodded then moved towards Speed, “Speed.” He pulled off the blindfold. Speed blinked at him, “Hi.”

Tears ran down his cheeks, “Alexx?”

“She’s fine,” Horatio assured him sitting down next to him. “She’s waiting for you at the hospital.”

Speed looked over at Richard, “It’s over.”

“He’s dead,” Horatio cupped Speed’s cheek making him look away from the body. “You’re going to be alright.”

“With your help,” Speed leaned against him. “I want to go home.”

“You need to be checked out first,” Horatio looked up to see Calleigh and Eric in the doorway. Tripp was making sure no one else got into the room.

Eric knelt in front of his friend, “Come on, Alexx’s waiting to see you.”

Horatio helped Speed stand up, “Call the paramedics in…”

“No,” Speed demanded. “I want to walk out of here.”

“We’re right here,” Calleigh smiled at him.

“Thank you,” Speed gave her a small smile back.

Speed was curled up in the hospital bed facing Alexx as she slept. He was relieved to see her okay, that the shot was wild and only caused a minor flesh wound. He sighed as he shifted not wanting to lie on his back. He was sore all over, from the beatings Richard inflicted. He would get his life back. He had new and old issues to deal with, but he wasn’t going to let Richard win. This was only a few steps back.

Though somehow the rape was worse this time around, a part of him felt he betrayed Horatio. He knew it wasn’t true, but it didn’t stop the guilty feelings.

He smiled as Alexx woke up and looked over at him. “Hi,” Speed shifted and sat up in his bed.

“Hi back,” She smiled at him. “How are you doing?”

“Depends,” He shrugged. “You?”

“Healing,” Alexx shifted a bit and looked over at him.

“I’m sorry,” Speed chocked as tears ran down his face.

“Baby come here,” Alexx held her arms open.

Speed got out of the bed and moved to Alexx’s bedside. She grabbed his hand and pulled him into the bed with her. “It’s not your fault.”

“He shot you and I did nothing,” Speed grumbled holding onto her.

“Baby, there was nothing you could have done,” Alexx smoothed his hair. “Do you blame me for not protecting you?”

“No,” Speed looked up at her.

“He broke into my home,” Alexx explained.

“Okay I see your point,” Speed laid his head on her shoulder. “The bastard’s dead.”

“Good thing I’m not doing his autopsy.” Alexx growled.

Speed looked at her, “You scare me sometimes.”

She kissed his forehead, “go to sleep.”

An hour later Horatio and Peter walked into the room. Peter smiled at the sight of Speed curled around Alexx. He glanced at Horatio, “should we be worried?”

“IA cleared you?” Horatio looked over at Stetler.

“Clean shot,” Stetler nodded. “They didn’t even blink.”

“This is hard for me,” Horatio admitted, “But thank you.”

“Even though it was a clean shot, and you would have shot him to protect any member of your team,” Stetler glanced over at Horatio. “There would have been always a whisper that you killed him because he took Speedle, your lover.”

“And here we thought we kept it a secret,” Horatio grinned.

“It’s a well kept secret,” Stetler smirked. “The two of you don’t show anything at work, and you don’t show favoritism so it’s overlooked.”

“DA decided to bring charges up on Agent Hawks,” Horatio grinned. “The DEA cut him loose saying he was a loose cannon that went against procedures. He was looking for a big case to make a name for himself.”

“Well I warned him,” Stetler smirked. “You would think they would have learned not to get in your way.”

“You would think,” Horatio slipped on his glasses. “Speed gets out of the hospital today so…”

“I wish him well,” Stetler nodded then headed back into the precinct.

Horatio watched him go; life really threw some curve balls.

“Detective Speedle,” Speed turned from the window and stopped short.

“Yes,” His voice was hard and cold.

“I know I’m not someone you really want to see,” Gregory Terrance looked down then back up at Speed.

“Not really,” Speed swallowed emotion threatening to overwhelm him.

Gregory hesitated, mouth opening and closing as he tried to come up with the words. “Sorry isn’t even close to being appropriate or adequate.” He looked at Speed directly. “What Richard did is partially my fault – I know that. I should have been home instead of building a business empire. I should have disciplined instead of giving in…”

“It was his decision,” Speed’s voice softened. “We all have parents that are inadequate – mine were rarely around, didn’t even show up at my high school graduation. But it’s not an excuse for our actions.”

Gregory nodded, “Paul’s suing the Feds for slander and false prosecution.”

Speed grinned, “My lawyer called me recently.”

“He’s good,” Gregory grinned. “You should have him go after the Feds.”

“I’m letting Horatio scare them,” Speed smirked.

“He scares me,” Gregory smiled at Speed. “If there is anything I can do…”

“In truth I really don’t want to even see you,” Speed answered honestly. “But if you want to do something. I’ve set up a rape counseling center, and it could always use assistance.”

Gregory nodded, “Thank you for at least hearing me out.”

“Thank you for having the guts to stop by,” Speed responded.

“Speed?” Horatio walked into the room his eyes narrowing on Gregory, “Mr. Terrance.”

“Just leaving Lieutenant,” Gregory nodded towards Speed and left the room.

“Speed?” Horatio turned towards Speed.

“He just wanted to say he was sorry,” Speed shrugged. Horatio held his arms open; Speed gave him a watery smile and fell into them. “I believe him. He’s as much a victim of Richard as I am.” Horatio just held him, and he would hold him for the rest of his life.

“I don’t really care that you’re officially moving in with H,” Eric commented as he set up the entertainment system. “I’m still coming over to watch the games.” He grinned over at Speed.

“Just bring enough pizza and beer for three,” Speed shook his head and turned to see the two women conspiring. “You two are too giddy for my sanity.”

Calleigh’s grin got bigger, “A whole new house to decorate.”

“Run,” Ryan walked by towards the backyard. “They’ve been watching TLC for weeks. Since the two of you announced that you bought a house together.”

Speed cringed, “I’ll go find Horatio.” He took off down the hallway.

~*~

Speed leaned up against the doorway that led to their new library. He smiled at the sight of Horatio organizing the books from his and Speed’s collection. Six months since the second kidnapping, six long months of therapy, six months of getting their relationship back to were it was physically, six months to get rid of the apartment, find a house, plant a large down payment, sell Horatio’s townhouse and move in.

Speed had made it quiet clear after the second kidnapping that he wasn’t going to live apart from Horatio any longer. No more hiding for appearances sake. As long as their professional life was separate from their personal life there should be no problem

They had found their new home six weeks ago. Horatio had taken a look at the yards and fell in love with the place, while Speed was hard pressed to leave the kitchen. The realtor had stated that the previous owner had been a chef. The library was an added bonus, a much needed one considering both of their large collections.

“I hope you’re not organizing by title,” Speed grinned.

Horatio eyed Speed from his position on the floor, “I’m not that insane. You want to help?”

“I got a kitchen to unpack, organize, prepare etc,” Speed smirked. “Especially if you want dinner.”

“Pizza,” Horatio held out his hand.

Speed shook his head and moved into the room sitting down next to Horatio, “This seems familiar.”

“Yeah, it does.” Horatio cupped his cheek. “How are you doing?”

“Good,” Speed nodded. “I’m down to one session a week and the doctor thinks I can soon go down to twice a month.”

“I love you,” Horatio rubbed a thumb over his cheek. “I’m so proud of you. You’ve gone through hell and you’re still standing strong.”

“With you by my side I can do anything,” Speed leaned into the caress. “Tonight….”

Horatio shifted a bit, pulling Speed closer to him, “What about tonight?”

Speed crawled into Horatio’s lap, his eyes going dark, “I want tonight, our first night in our home, in our bed, starting our life together – I want you to make love to me. I know it’s…”

“Shhh…” Horatio silenced him with a soft kiss. “I’m happy with our life – I don’t ….”

“I want,” Speed kissed him back. “I want everything. I remember your touch and feel, and I want to feel it again. I want ten years from now to look back at this year and only remember you by my side.”

Horatio kissed him deeply pulling Speed further into his lap, he gasped as Speed grinded into him. Speed took the advantage and slipped his tongue into his mouth. Horatio’s hands went into Speed’s hair holding him in place as he devoured his mouth.

“Don’t mean to interrupt,” Eric grinned from the doorway. Speed flipped him off and kept kissing Horatio. Eric just laughed, “But there’s a delivery truck out front, something about an industrial fridge.” Speed maneuvered out of Horatio’s arms and out the door and down the hall. Eric looked at Horatio, “You got ditched for a fridge.”

“Shut up Eric,” Horatio laughed as he got off the floor. “You don’t understand it’s ‘the fridge’. He’s been drooling over it for weeks. He’s used cooking this past year as an outlet. He was a good cook before, but now I’m surprised I haven’t gained weight.”

Eric smiled, “It’s worth the smile on his face. Consider sending him to cooking school?” The two walked down the hall.

“No,” Horatio pointedly glared at Eric, “And you won’t mention it.”

“Why not?” Eric asked intrigued.

“Because,” Horatio and Eric watched as Speed instructed the delivery men. “He’s good and if he went to a school they would find out he’s good and recruit him for a restaurant and steal him from the lab.”

“How much does a chef make?” Eric asked curious.

“Twice as much as I do,” Horatio commented.

“Damn,” Eric grinned. “Hey Speed…”

“What?” Speed turned around eyebrows furrowed as he watched Horatio drag Eric out of the room. He shrugged and went back to his new fridge.

Alexx walked into the kitchen after the delivery guys left, “What was that all about?”

“Cooking school,” Speed smirked. “Horatio is afraid that some restaurant will steal me from the lab.”

“Would you consider it?” Alexx asked leaning against the counter.

“No,” Speed grinned. “I cook for myself, it helps relax me. I enjoy cooking for Horatio or my friends, but not for a large scale audience.”

“But Horatio doesn’t know that,” Alexx shook her head.

“And I’m not planning on telling him,” Speed smirked. “You wanna help me fill it up?”

Alexx’s eyes went wide, “Shopping?”

“Gourmet shopping,” Speed held up his list.

“Let’s go,” Alexx grabbed her purse and pulled Speed out the door. “We’ll be back.”

Horatio waved from the hallway, “We should have everything pretty much organized when you get back with dinner.”

Speed smiled at him, “Plan for desert later.”

Horatio gave him a sexy grin, “Oh I am.”

“H, do I have to organize all of this?” Eric called out from the library.

Horatio turned and looked into the library, “Yes.”

“Speed hurry home,” Eric called out from the room.

“I will,” Speed’s eyes never left Horatio’s. “Je t’aime.”

Horatio shifted in the bed, his hand reaching for his lover. He startled awake when he felt cold sheets. He sat up looking around the bedroom. No sign of Speed. He slipped on his boxer shorts and headed down the stairs. He leaned up against the wall grinning at the sight of Speed organizing the kitchen.

Horatio padded up to the breakfast bar and sat down on one of the bar stools just watching Speed move through the kitchen. He wasn’t sure where Speed got the energy to be up at, he glanced at the clock, two am in the morning – especially after the way they just spent the past few hours.

Horatio closed his eyes, his thoughts leading him back to just a few hours ago. Speed sprawled out on the bed moaning his name as he sucked and nipped on one of his nipples. He had taken his time, touching, licking, and enhancing Speed’s pleasure so the only thing on his mind was what he was feeling.

When he touched Speed his finger stroking over his entrance Speed had tense considerably. Horatio sat back his blue eyes searching Speed’s brown. Speed relaxed his body, but Horatio could tell he was still tense.

“Is it the position?” Horatio asked his hand stroking Speed’s thigh and knee.

“I think so,” Speed sat up he crawled into Horatio’s lap. “I want this. I need this….”

“But,” Horatio pulled Speed’s head onto his shoulder stroking his hair. “He kept you tied onto the bed on your back.”

“It might take me a bit longer on that issue,” Speed muttered into his chest. “Can I be on top?”

“We do whatever makes you feel comfortable,” Horatio kissed his neck following it up nipping at the chin taking Speed’s mouth passionately. “I would love to see you ride me.”

Speed swallowed, his eyes dilated, his cock getting hard once again. “You want to see me ease myself onto you.” He whispered grinding down slightly. “My head thrown back as you sink into me, stretching me.”

Horatio groaned shifting them on the bed. He laid down his eyes never leaving Speeds, “Do you know how hot you make me when you ride your bike. Wondering what it would be like to be ridden like that.”

Speed groaned as he reached for the lube, “Prepare me.” He fell onto his hands and knees over Horatio. Horatio leaned up kissing Speed passionately as his fingers found Speed’s entrance and slowly began preparing him. Speed rocked back pulling the fingers in deeper letting them fill and stretch him. He pushed Horatio back down, raised himself on his knees, and with his eyes locked with Horatio’s lowered himself onto Horatio’s hard cock.

“Hey,” Speed touched Horatio’s hand, “You here?”

Horatio shook out of his memories, “Lost in my thoughts.”

“What were you thinking about?” Speed asked.

“A few hours ago,” Horatio grinned at Speed’s slight blush.

“Didn’t know I had it in me,” Speed looked down.

Horatio reached over the bar and lifted Speed’s chin, “Don’t be ashamed. It was the hottest thing I had seen, felt and experience. I look forward to doing it again.”

“I love you,” Speed kissed Horatio’s palm.

“You want to come back to bed,” Horatio grinned. “Or do you want to finish the kitchen.”

“Bed,” Speed walked out of the kitchen.

“You already finished didn’t you,” Horatio eyed him.

Speed laughed, “Just, when I noticed you sitting there.”

“We have a lot to do tomorrow,” Horatio looked down the hallway towards the library.

“Yeah,” Speed took Horatio’s hand as he headed towards the stairs. “But right now I want to sleep curled up next to you.”

“Sounds good,” Horatio followed him into the bedroom.

The two curled up together on the bed. Speed laid his head down on Horatio’s chest – he was home, safe, and happy. He slipped into an easy sleep content to be in Horatio’s arms.
