Advent Teaser 2

Another Teaser for upcoming Advent Story

Ethan gave Benji’s shoulder a reassuring squeeze, then moved over to the table putting down the flashdrive, while grabbing headphones.  He studied his Sire for a few moments, instantly noticing the tense shoulders, and quiet demeanor.  The Kremlin mission was a fuck up all around, and they were lucky none of them had been killed, or stuck in another Russian Prison.

Benji turned his focus to the new guy.  The first thing he noticed was his eyes, they held a mix of bewilderedness and fondness, but mostly they were captivating.   His build was strong, despite the fact he was an Analyst, which made him wonder if he used to be an Agent.  He hadn’t been out of shape while working in IT, but when he went through the physical training to be an Agent, oh dear god he thought he was going to die.

“So how do you know Ethan?”

There was an irrational burst of jealousy over the two men.  It was obvious to anyone, they were comfortable in each other’s presence.  Benji knew Ethan had a Mate, even received a long list telling him ‘how to take care of one anxiety ridden corny super spy’ from Luther, and so far he already broke a few of the ‘do not let him do’ sections of the list.   And it just wouldn’t be fair if the really hot guy in the soaked suit had a relationship with his Sire.

Will snorted, then glanced over to Jane not sure who knew about Vampires. “We’ve worked together a few times.”

“He’s my husband.” Ethan stated as he finished with the flashdrive, then turned towards the team.

“I had heard you were married, but last I checked it was a wife.” Jane glanced up from a laptop she was working on, expression mixed between annoyance and confusion.

“Past life.”  Will answered as if that explained everything.  He gave Ethan a look that only a spouse could give, and then sighed heavily.  “Can we just get the awkward conversation over with?”

“The Analyst one or the Vampire one?”  Jane gave him a pointed look before focusing back on her laptop.  “I discovered both within a short time period and am still deciding which will come back and bite me in the ass.”

“I like her.”  Will glanced at Ethan, who grinned.  “The Analyst is the least of your worries, but the Vampire conversation needs to be had.”

“I found out about it, when this one.”  She pointed at Benji, who was trying desperately to blend into the background. “Turned Hanaway on the last op.”  Her voice kinda dropped, the fear of the moment still clear.  “So we met some Vampire friends who are watching him.”

“You Turned Hanaway?”  Ethan gave Benji a pointed look, one that normally sent Agents running for their lives.  “You may have left that part out of your story, when you mentioned Jane could be snacked on.”

“Congrats it’s a grandson.”  He smiled at his Sire, moving closer to Will hoping for protection.

“Grandson?”  Will glanced between the two Vampires, as if he was desperately trying to put the whole story together in his head.  “Does this have anything to do with you being in a Russian jail?”

“We had to break him out.”  Benji stated, hoping just hoping that he could divert the conversation away from Hanaway.  That particular op wasn’t easy.  He never realized how much Ethan did not follow properly laid out exit signs.  “When we finally got him and his friend out … ” He paused when he noticed that Will continued to glare at Ethan.

“Cousin of a Russian Arms Dealer.  I mentioned this.”  Ethan shrugged like this was an everyday occurrence.  Then again for him, it likely was.

“Are you really his husband?  So the wife was a beard?”  Jane asked, despite some of her focus still on the laptop.

“Where the fuck is Luther?”  Will asked as his frustration built.  There was no way the burly hacker would allow his Mate to be in a Russian prison, without backup.   Ever since Luther had come into Ethan’s life, he had found an allie on getting Ethan to calm the fuck down.

“He’s in Australia.”  Ethan answered as if that actually helped the situation.  “Okay let’s do a quick recap so we can actually get on with the actual mission.”   He ran a hand through his hair, pushing it out of his face.  “My darling Husband here is Wilhelm Brandenstein, Lead Hunter of Ehre/Weishet…”

“Wait, we were just with your Clan!”  Benji pointed at Will, smiling brightly.  “Met Claus and Mr. I have no facial expression.”

“Preston?”  Will blinked slowly, not quite sure how the hell this conversation got derailed so fast.  “How did you meet my Hunters and I not know about it?”

“Actually, while we’re on the subject, why didn’t you tell me I had an uncle?!”  He pointed at Ethan with an accusational glare.

“An uncle who tried to assassinate Hitler.”  Jane commented from her spot spinning the laptop around.  “I knew the name sounded familiar but I couldn’t quite place it.   He’s the one who almost pulled off toppling the Nazi Party, starting with killing Hitler.”

Ethan sighed, hands resting on the work table.  “Yeah I know. I was there, helped get his family out of Germany.  Okay, let’s just get this out.  Will, I Turned Benji a few years ago, it was just before I met Julia and that whole situation went down.  To make the point, I never actually married her, especially since I have a cranky hacker as a Mate.   Though it didn’t matter ’cause the damage was done, and she had to give up her life because of me.   Benji, I have the soul of Will’s wife, Anya, so yes in many ways he is my ‘husband’.   Carter, at this moment I need you focused on this job and not on Hanaway, he’s safe.  Are we covered?”

All three nodded.
