Sylum 10th Anniversary: Q&A
Q: Are all the Jeffrey Dean Morgan characters meant to be descendants of Wenceslaus? They all seem more similar as a family line than the Meridii. Although the almost all see harder and perhaps more inflexible than the Good King is generally considered to have been.
A: Yes the JDM characters are descendants from Wenceslaus. They divided into two lines, one ended up in America, the other stayed in Europe. Clay is on the European side. Bunyan – had 12 siblings so from those siblings came brothers Edward and Isaac Blake. From Eddie is John Winchester leading to Sam & Dean.
Your right on the fact they are not quite like Wenceslaus, especially considering he’s a Saint. Though Wenceslaus may seem quieter more docile, you mess with his Clan or his Mate, the family traits would emerge.
Eddie Blake is a creature of his own. No one is quite sure what exactly happened there.
Q: There’s a new show on Netflix called Marco Polo in which Pierfrancesco Favino play’s Marco father. The timeline fallows Genghis Khan grandson, Kublai Khan reign. Is there any plans to incorporate some of the character’s from the show to the clans?
A: I still couldn’t believe I missed the fact Pierfrancesco was in a new show!!! Though I’m not sure if I should thank or hit you for introducing the series to us. Because of that, yes you will be seeing these characters in the future. Matter of fact we introduced Maffeo Polo a few weeks back as a Character Introduction.
And as a personal Sylum in joke. If your an Assassins Creed fan you would know it’s Maffeo and Niccolo that take Altair’s codex pages and scatter them around. It’s Ezio reading their accounts, where he learns the story of Altair.

Ethan grew up through the Civil War. He had heard of stories of an Uncle that fought gallantly then disappeared into the Far East never to be seen again.
He followed in his Uncle’s foot steps and joined the Army. He was quickly recruited out of the units and into the Army Military Intelligence Division.
This is where he met James Phelps.
Ethan was good at espionage. He was fast on his feet and thought three steps ahead of everyone else. James used him for many operations through Europe, including help steal many top secrets from Intelligence sources in Britain.
It was at this time Ethan began to realize that Phelps was playing a double sided game. When he confronted the man, he found himself in far worse situation.
Ethan woke up dead. Which he had to admit was a first.

Sylum Inspiration: Ducati
The Ducati
If there is a visual representation for Speed – it’s the Yellow Ducati.
It wouldn’t matter where Speed lived, there would be a Ducati in the garage. It’s his preferred method of transportation, except when he’s driving the twins around then he steals H’s Hummer.
The bike shown above is actually Rory’s own Ducati, he just used it while they filmed CSI: Miami.

I know it may not feel like a Throwback Thursday but Gladiator was actually released in 2000. Yep 15 years ago.
Maximus was a huge influence on Sylum and then became a large part of Sylum.

Sylum 10th Anniversary: Q&A
Q: I know Tony Stark, Bruce Banner & Clint Barton exist somewhere in the Sylum Universe. Will any other Avengers be making appearances or do they not even figure into Sylum anywhere?
A: Yes and No is the simplest answer. In typical Sylum way: how you think it will be won’t necessarily will be how it is. Wow that was cryptic. So yes in some form you’ll see Steve Rogers, Thor, Nick Fury, Coulson, and Natasha, but not how you expect it. We will say this – there won’t be any ‘The Avengers’ or ‘Shield’.
Q: Are you going to do anything for the UK dramas… Lewis / Death in Paradise / Foyles War? Is it possible to bring Morse back to life?
A: Funny you should mention that considering who’s bio I just finished last night *cough* Lewis *cough*. Camelot actually showcases many UK shows and history. And well as for Morse, how can you not have him.
Character Introduction: Hetshepsu

He is the fraternal twin of Shepsit Hemet Amun-Ra. A rare occurrence and considered a blessing to all. They were removed from the home, and taken to the city and raised in the Temple of Ra. Both equal in beauty, and admired by all.
Shepsit became a Priestess of Ra, while Hetshepsu was taken in by Ra’s Al Ghul and trained in the Courts of Ra. He married Ra’s oldest daughter Talia, and had four children. He and his sister stayed extremely close, despite the fact she was isolated in the Temple. When he discovered she was pregnant, he confronted her on her stupidity. She assured him she was safe, and no one knew who the father was, and all assumed it was Ra.
Despite the fact he still didn’t like the situation he was devoted to his nephew Nekau, and was devastated when he was killed.
He watched in horror along with everyone else when Ra slit the young boys throat. He knew at that moment the war had begun. He made his way back to his home, to find his wife dying next to his children. A warrior leveled his sword against his youngest daughter when Hetshepsu attacked. He disarmed and killed the guard, then scooped up his daughter and ran for his father-in-laws home. Ra’s Al Ghul pulled him off the street and hid him away from passing guards. They barely made it out of the city and towards the Medjai camp.
It was once they stopped he realized he had been wounded, collapsing into Ra’s Al Ghul’s arms, he apologized for not saving Talia. Ra’s Al Ghul Turned him, later telling him his penance was to wait with him until their family returned home.

Hetshepsu now uses the name Harvey Specter.
He’s been a lawyer before there were laywers. Harvey has his fingers in many legal proceedings including making sure historical monuments, buildings, lands, etc… that are owned by variety of Clans are kept protected and secured.
Harvey is the guy any one calls when they need the hard hitter.
He’s fierecly loyal to his sister, though he has smacked her on a occasion for being a moron. As she does to him in return. He adores his nephew, Nico, and will destroy anyone who he thinks is messing with him.
One piece of advice – never cross him.

Sylum Blog: New Features
Sylum Blog: New Features
Behind the scenes we’ve been updating and fixing up the Blog, the new improved Wiki *glares at it*, and website. All this in association and prep for the 10th Anniversary!!
Let me introduce you to one of the new features of the Blog:
As we had a massive Spam attack a while back, we shut down the ability to sign up and login in as a ‘user’ for protection. One of the downsides was the inability to log in. Anyone could make a comment using their email but no one could log into the blog itself.
That’s been changed!!
You can now log in either using your Google, Twitter, Yahoo, WordPress, or Tumblr accounts. This will allow you to post comments more efficiently, with the add benefit of being able to track comments on a particular post. Plus this benefit will come in handy at a later date for other new features were implementing into the blog!
Where do you sign in?
Some of the Widgets have been moved around for better access.
When looking at your screen, check the left side bar – at the top you should see a link that says ‘Log In’.
Click that.
Pick what you would like to sign in with … it will ask you for permission for the blog to have access to all your secrets … *smirks* … contact info etc. Do not worry!! No one sees it and I promise not to black mail anyone *shifty look*.

Throwback Thursday: Seaborn & Ziegler
Sam Seaborn & Toby Ziegler
West Wing went off the air May 2006 almost a decade ago. Yet every episode can relate to a modern political situation. These two are actually very influential in Sylum Storyline, especially with Sam’s ties with Maximus and Commodus.
Sylum 10th Anniversary: Q&A
Q: Karl Urban is present in the various clans, will we be adding more of him from places as Almost Human, Judge Dredd or RED, which also has Bruce Willis another face that has popped up a few times in different clans.
A: There is no move to bring in his characters from either Almost Human or Judge Dredd. There is story idea more like a lurking bunny for his character, William Cooper, in RED. As we do have Frank Moses as a Council Spy – its likely at some point Cooper will show up. When, where, how – Bob isn’t saying at the moment.

Q: 2015 Sylum Con Dates set yet?
A: There will be no Sylum Con this year. Due to RL and also prepping and trying to get everything done for the 10th Anniversary there was no way we could take out the time to plan a con.
But!
There will be one in 2016. It will be held in Los Angeles. More information will be available later this year.
