I bake all the time. I have a skinny spouse and a father with a sweet tooth. Cookies, cakes, zucchini, apple, and bread, and recipes I find in my great grandmother’s recipe books.

I am a cookie baker. I learned from my mother who was the cookie baker in our house when I was growing up. My aunt was the pie baker and grandma made the cakes.
Grandpa made candy except for fudge — mom made the fudge.
I learned from all of them, but I have always loved baking cookies. I went wild at Christmas with the cookies! I gave them to friends in lieu of buying presents. They always Ioved the cookies so that’s what they got at Christmas. I still bake, though not as much as I did.
When we go to a bakery, we usually get Danish or doughnuts. The only
bakery I Ioved that’s still open is called Plehns. My family would walk there after church to get doughnuts when my mom and aunt were young. **sigh**
