Boxing Day 2023: Results

So the results are in!

And the winner of 2023’s Boxing Day – The challenger, but I added a twist to it!  You guys are enjoying these moments way to much!

Nico sat next to Warrick watching the the boys fight.   They really didn’t have their hearts in it this year.  So much had been going on, and the two working closer together, becoming more of a team.   The taunts were the same, the snarky commentary, and both were putting their all in.  It was starting to show how evenly matched the two were actually.   Their skills were very different, but overall both deadly warriors that no one would truly want to mess with.

“We should get someone in here to challenge them.”  Warrick commented as he grumbled at his lackluster odds and betting pool.

“Why don’t you do it?”  Nico glanced over at his Mate.  “I took them on a while back but I was in a very grumpy mood.”

Warrick cringed knew exactly why Nico had been in a grumpy mode that was the year everyone, including the boys had ditched him on Christmas Eve.  “Not worth my effort, besides my job is to run the books.”

“I can do it, as I did while you were at Masyaf.”

“How about Kenway?”

“What’s in it for me?”  The pirate huffed comfortable in his hammack being used as a pillow for a sloth.  Nothing was moving the Pirate captain anytime soon.

“Riddick?”  Nico shook his head just as he suggested it.  “That didn’t work out last time.  Seems Eric was a bit surprised, so many people forget Speed taught Riddick.”

“Riddick and his girls.” Warrick grinned wickedly.  “Those two are hot when they want to fuck someone up.”

Kenway snorted as Nico rolled his eyes.  “Avaline?”

“Remy would get involved and as much as I love that woman’s thighs, the Italian asshole has trained his kid well.”  Warrick muttered darkly glancing through his potential challenger list.  “And no those two can’t step foot on Manor property.”

“Why I’m visiting them in Egypt in a few weeks.”  Nico laughed at Warrick’s wicked grin. “You can have your wicked pirate way before and after.”

“Damn right!”

Kenway ignored them both, but was intrigued by a good challenge for the kids.  They were getting better, and it showed.  The fact they took on Rhys and held on was a good indicator.   Plus he had challenged them both privately a few times.  “What about other assassins.  The Frye twins.”

“Getting them out of England would be a miracle.  Though Evy would do damage.”  Nico had to admit that would be a good challenge.

“Aguilar and Callum?”  Warrick suggested.

“That would be a damn good fight.  Those two would fuck with their heads plus Irish against Irish is always fun.”  Kenway chuckled at the prospect.

“But they are still hiding out in Spain.”  Nico paused for a moment.  “You know Thorin and his boys would be interesting.  I haven’t seen him fight, but Jake says it’s intense.”

“Ernesto?”  Warrick knew the boy could fight, but the years now of training.

“That could be a good fight!”  Kenway added back into the conversation.  “Though we all know his kid would come with him.”

“And that would be a no!”  Warrick crossed the Vatican Protector off the list.  “Hey what about our guests?”

“Richard?”  Nico glanced at his Mate not sure where he was going with that.  “He’s a damn good fighter, but not sure he could take the kids and well Matt isn’t the type.”

“No the other ones.” Warrick’s look said everything.

“Shortest fight in history.”  Nico pointed out, his own expression conveying his thoughts.  “I like my kids.”

“Today.”  Kenway muttered.

There was a cough and clearing of a throat.   Nico looked up to see Abraham and Henry standing at the edge of the porch.  “Yes.”

“We decided to toss our hats into the annual Boxing Day challenge.”  Henry’s small smirk was enough to know it was going to be a good fight.

“With our without the ax?”  Warrick asked as he typed furiously on his phone.

“With.”

“Ohh odds just went up.”  Now the bets were coming in, noticing instantly that Australia was putting a lot of money on ‘their’ President.

Kenway sat up slightly, shifting his sloth slightly to make sure he had a good view.

The President and Advisor sauntered onto the playing field.  Tony and Speed paused, then smirked at the challenge.

“I hope Henry remembers he taught Speed a few things.”  Nico knew it would be a good match, the problem was Lincoln’s ax.  The few that used Ax’s to that extent rarely took Lincoln on, when he was yielding it.  “And that Tony worked with Abraham after the war.”

“Henry is an Assassin.” Kenway pointed out, he respected the man for taking his grandkid’s name to honor him.

“Both have also not actively hunted for a while.”  Warrick added cringing when the fight went up a notch.

The fight was well matched.

At one point Henry tossed his tomahawk and Speed who caught it and tossed it back.  “You taught me that!”  He yelled smirking at the stunned expression, then quickly caught the snarling assassin as they hit the ground.

Tony had kept his eyes on the ax, then took the exact moment, bring up his own sword blocking the swing and slamming into the ground.  He gave the former President a salute, only to duck quickly when it came back up faster than he expected.

The four came to a pause and gave each other a look, before shrugging.

Lincoln set his ax head down and leaned against it.  “We should do this more often.  I haven’t had a good challenge in a while.”

Tony shook his head laughing. “Seems our Boxing day feuds are bcoming training sessions.”

Speed shrugged, from where he was sitting on Henry.  “This was fun.   Not often the wolf gets to play with the kitty kitty.”

“Fuck you.”  Henry smacked him but didn’t really fight to move. “How about we get some food and alcohol.  Invite your horny mates!”

Tony laughed noticing Jethro was watching intently, and he was sure Horatio was going to stalk his Mate soon enough.

“So this was a draw?”

They all looked over at Nico, who like the Caesar he was, signaled the battle was a fought hard and all were winners.

Speed stood and helped Henry up.  “I got a hunt to do, will catch up with you later.”

“I’ll go if you don’t mind.”  Henry brushed off the dirt.  “It would be fun.”

“Well that turned out differently!”  Warrick was raking in the cash as no one saw that coming.

“I think I should work with Lincoln and that ax of his.”  Kenway shifted until he was out of the hammock setting the sloth on it’s perch.

Nico sat back in his chair smiling softly, enjoying having his family around him.
