Sylum Inspiration: Harry Alonzo Longabaugh (Sundance Kid)

Sanctuary: Legal Advisor

Longabaugh was born in Mont Clare, Pennsylvania in 1867, the son of Pennsylvania natives Josiah and Annie G. (née Place) Longabaugh. He was the youngest of five children (his older siblings were Ellwood, Samanna, Emma and Harvey). Longabaugh was of mostly English and German ancestry and was also part Welsh. At age 15, Longabaugh traveled westward on a covered wagon with his cousin George. In 1887, Longabaugh stole a gun, horse and saddle from a ranch in Sundance, Wyoming. While attempting to flee, he was captured by authorities and was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in jail by Judge William L. Maginnis. During this jail time, he adopted the nickname of the Sundance Kid. After his release, he went back to working as a ranch hand, and in 1891, as a 25-year-old, he worked at the Bar U Ranch in what is today Alberta, Canada, which was one of the largest commercial ranches of the time.

Longabaugh was suspected in 1892 in a train robbery, then again in 1897 in a bank robbery along with five other men. He became associated with a group known as the “Wild Bunch,” which included his famous partner Robert Leroy Parker, better known as Butch Cassidy.

Longabaugh likely met Butch Cassidy (real name Robert Leroy Parker) after Parker was released from prison around 1896. Together with the other members of “The Wild Bunch” gang, they performed the longest string of successful train and bank robberies in American history.

After pursuing a career in crime for several years in the United States, the pressures of being pursued, notably by the Pinkerton Detective Agency, forced Longabaugh, his girlfriend Etta Place, and Cassidy to abandon the United States. The trio fled first to Argentina and then to Bolivia, where Parker and Longabaugh were probably killed in a shootout in November 1908.

He met his wife, Maria, who was a waitress in a bar.  She had green eyes, blonde hair, and was wearing a pale blue dress. He kept coming back and ordering a drink, until she finally stopped serving him, demanding he respect the uniform he wore and do his job. He laughed, pulling her into his lap and whispering that he was there only for her.

A few months later they were married.

A year later she announced she was pregnant. Jonathon was worried with the way society was starting to decay, but trusted her beyond reason. She never recovered from the birth, and slipped away quietly when his son was a few weeks old.

He raised his son, Arnaud, as best as he could, making sure the boy had an education that she would be proud of.  When Arno was eight, he was dragged back to their home by a fellow Inspector, stating that the boy had picked his pocket.

Jonathon looked at his boy, ‘I thought I told you not to pick pocket fellow Inspectors’. It was the beginning of his friendship with Javert.

In 1789 his life changed.

He watched in horror as his son was dragged up to the Guillotine. He yelled at the soldiers to stop, the mob to stop, but no one listened – the scream of agony rocked through the square in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral.

A few days later, Javert pulled his drunk ass out of the of the gutter and Turned him.

Sylum: Hunter

Born to John and Mary Winchester January 24, 1979 in Lawerence, Kansas. When Dean was four years old, he was excited at his brother Samuel Winchester’s birth. Six months later, his life was destroyed when Balthazar entered their home and killed Mary. John handed Sammy into four year old Dean’s arms and told him to run. Raised on the road, trained to hunt Vampires, Dean learned to live the life of a nomad. He barely stayed in one school long enough to make friends, but remained loyal to his father John Winchester and brother Sammy. Among the few bright moments in his life are when he and Sammy stayed with Bobby Singer who taught him everything about cars.

As he got older he began to take hunts on his own, running into Maxine Guevera and Logan Cale. Not truly understanding Vampires and the Clan System, he just figured that Vampires weren’t all bad like his father had preached. When he returned home from the hunt he discovered that Sammy had been keeping secrets, and had left the family for college.

Four years later he showed up on Sam’s doorstep with news: their dad had gone missing while hunting. After following a few leads and finding nothing, Dean took Sam back to Stanford, only to discover that Balthazar had come back into their lives, killing Sam’s girlfriend. He was raised by Michael and Ellen Winchester, who was the older couple that had found him as a baby. He grew up learning everything about cars from his dad’s side. He inherited the Winchester Auto and set out to expand the business. He met Mary Campbell while taking night classes in business. The two fell in love, and before the Campbells knew it, they were married.

Sam left for Stanford.

Dean left to Hunt on his own.

Only to get himself captured by the very creature he had been Hunting. Sylum Inspiration: Enki Sumer

Mod: Member

Enki isn’t a Vampire, nor is Human.

He’s a Navigator and from the same planet as Davy Jones and Blackbeard.

He was pulled into their war, when Blackbeard enslaved his mermaids.  He was dragged to Earth, and severely wounded.  He found a safe place, in the Northern Seas, specifically like to stay near Iceland and Norway.

He became more known to Vampires after he met Hiccup and Toothless.  He ended up helping out Noromer, yet hasn’t told him quite yet.  He has a soft spot for him, especially after he faced Davy Jones head on, and won (sort of).

He finally got his mermaids back, after Jack Sparrow tricked Blackbeard back into the locker, leaving them finally free of his influence.

To this day he still prefers the Northerns Seas.  He stops by to see Gran, and talks to the Mariner a lot.  He gets a kick out of Jack Frost, always had and is happy he has his ‘Bunny’.

Sylum Inspiration: Callum Lynch

Camelot: Hunter

Callum and his twin brother Aguilar were born October 21st in the year of our lord 1460 AD and was in Masyaf.

When they set out on their own missions, Callum went to Ireland, while Aguilar went to Spain.

Callum kept a low profile, finding an a small farm owned by the Lynch family, they took him in, and became the son they never had.  When they died he took over the farm, and used it as a hiding place and information stop.

During one of his own missions, he heard about Il Duce and the vendetta he seemed to be on. He made sure to casually meet him in the pub, only to discover his own mission.

The two became friends, and during a mission when they went after a corrupt Bishop, Callum ended up Turned.

Sylum Inspiration: Paul Bunyan

Serenity: Hunter

There are many hypotheses about the etymology of the name Paul Bunyan. Much of the commentary focuses on a Franco-Canadian origin for the name. Phonetically Bunyan is similar to the Québécois expression “bon yenne!” expressing surprise or astonishment. The English surname Bunyan derives from the same root as bunion in the Old French bugne, referring to a large lump or swelling. Several researchers have attempted to trace Paul Bunyan to the character of Bon Jean or Tit Jean of French Canadian folklore.
