Did you play sports?  Have a coach that was an influence on your life?

Or admire a specific coach from a professional team?

I played so many sports growing up. I was what is nicely called an ‘adventurous child’ which means I was a terror with waaaaay too much energy. So my parents put me in a sport for every season to keep me out of trouble. In the summer/fall we had Soccer and winter/spring was ice hockey plus I played tennis and went swimming on the side for fun. It kept me out of trouble and kept my energy contained. I had some amazing coaches growing up because of this. The kind that you see on TV who take an actually interest in their players and will still with them and just talk it out. Now I had some bad ones to who didn’t give a heck but I like to think I learned something from all of them.

I used to play baseball eith the neighborhood boys. I was the proverbial tom-boy, and the little fat neighbor girl. I pitched a no-hitter once and had a number of home-runs under my belt. But, when I was in the sixth grade, my teacher told me I couldn’t play with the boys at recess, I had to play kickball with the girls. I told her I didn’t want to play with the girls. She asked why and I told her flatout why. ” Because they cheat — all the time!”
I lost, of course. Hit my teen years, and lost all interest in sports. Unless UL and UK are playing each other or are in March Madness, I don’t bother with it. I liked Denny Crum as a coach for Louisville. I also liked Rick Pitino for both UL and UK until he basically fucked us up and over with the crap he pulled that got UL in heaps of trouble with the NCAA.
    Sorry. Feeling wordy again.
