The Nutcracker.
Jesus Christ Superstar (original and reboot), Rocky Horror (hubby used to go every Saturday night dressed as Riff-Raff) The reboot was was okay, but nothing beats the original. Paint Your Wagon (Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin singing was the bomb).
Let’s see:
Play– a tie between The Crucible and A Few Good Men
Musical– a tie between West Side Story and Les Miserables
Ballet– The Nutcracket (no contest)
—-Naj 😀
Play – I agree with Naj on A Few Good Men as Michael O’Hare beat Jack Nicholson hands down.
Musical – Phantom of the Opera, the original with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman gives me goosebumps it’s that freaking perfect in every way (seriously the Gerard Butler thing was bloody awful and don’t get me started on that terrible thing Charles Dance did). Rocky Horror is phenomenal too, but once you’ve cleaned out a theatre after an audience watching that, it loses it’s appeal really fast.
Ballet – Seriously guys, get back to me once you’ve seen something choreographed by Matthew Bourne, then we’ll talk. But let’s just say his Swan Lake is the greatest thing in the history of ballet (and I’ve seen Nureyev dance in person, so I know what I’m talking about here!). But if you love Nutcracker, check out Matthew Bourne’s version, it’s the biggest sugar high acid trip you’ll ever see.
