I’m retired, but my sister-in-law is working from home. For the most part it’s worked out, but she’s having a breakdown in communication from the office when it comes to receiving messages from her clients.
The communication lines took a bit to get into place for us, as I miss the ability to walk over to someone and go ‘so…’ but now that its worked out – I really love working from home.
I’ve been working from home since March last year. I do miss seeing the people I work with BUT I do not missing the drive during rush hour traffic in Charlotte NC since the commute is 40 miles each way.
I’m pretty sure the one thing everyone enjoys – no commute 🙂 And I totally understand the 40 miles each way thing.
I’ll be coming up on a full year of being at home on March 11th. Overall, it’s been okay. I work in a team of three and we were fine with packing up our desk tops and moving home. No commute – yay. I do miss the rituals of getting up and leaving to go to work sometimes, but I created other ways to mark that space between life and going to work.
Finding that work/life balance when your work laptop sits on the kitchen table is hard (having my own WFH office has helped)
Let’s see: working on napping technique, pursuing garden magazines and playing with my Pinkie Puppy. That’s it! Boring life here.

Totally working from and loving it. I’m going to do everything to not have to go back to the office.
I’m totally with you on that one!
