I prefer to avoid the whole thing. Not much on polite small talk with people I see for holidays & funerals.
We host an informal thing for my baby Sailors who can’t go home. Just potato soup and some appetizers plus letting them pet my cats and play with my dog. Other then that we might watch a movie but that’s it.
