So a new donut place opened up across the street from work. Its called Holey Moldy. The donuts are amazing. There are different kinds everyday and when they run out that’s it for the day. I find it quite the dangerous place.

My Director brought in donuts for us today…weird timing.

I am partial to the French Cruller from certain places. Though I do like fresh made, warm, delicious glazed yeast donuts from another place…

DunkinDonuts recently had this “Coffee, Creme & Sugar Donut” that was made with yeast shell and stuffed with coffee butter creme and topped with powdered sugar. It was very yummy and very coffee 🙂

Though, I like beignets (nola) and malasadas (hawaii) too.

  3. Favorite donuts are a toss up between raspberry Bavarians or apple fritters. My all time favorite donut shop is one that I can’t remember the name of, but it’s at Pike Place Market in Seattle (or at least it was, don’t know if its still there). Second would be Frost Donuts, a local shop.

My all time favorite place is in St Louis very far away now. A small hole-in-the wall place called Donut Drive in (I think). Loved to watch them make the donuts fresh as you watch. The glazed ones are nicely warm and sticky. Beignets are another favorite only from Cafe du Monde in NO, but that’s a different kind of thing.

My favorite place is a little shop down the street from me called Rose’s donuts. I love it because the people are so awesome and they’ll put whatever filling you want into whatever donut you want as long as they have the filling and the donut.

My favorite donut is the Boston Cream filled Maple glazed one. They’re delicious but very sugary so I can only ever eat one unless I want to get nothing done that day.

When I was growing up there was a bakery in town called Lyle’s bakery. He made the best donuts and rolls. My favorite was the cinnamon rolls with maple icing. They looked like they were fried, but not as greasy. I think that he was bought out by a local restaurant and sold his donuts and cookies there until it went under. Then he went to two other local restaurants that also went under. Now there is a bakery in Greenville, Mi that tastes just as good as his were. It’s called Haan’s Bakery. Yes, it is very dangerous to go in there with all the goodies and bread.

Enjoy retirement Lyle, wherever you are.
