Starbucks as it’s Pumpkin Latte already in their stores.

I found Candy Corn M&Ms in the grocery store.

Is the ‘holiday’ merchandise/specials too much if released too soon?

  1. I think so, seeing Christmas decorations already up in some stores feels wrong. We haven’t put away summer clothes and they have a Christmas tree and decorations? It seems that now we hurry through the seasons in a rush to get to the next “big” one. I would rather it slow down and enjoy each seasonal holiday fully before going on to the next one.

wow already have christmas decorations? I know at times Michael’s or craft stores can have it early due to projects but other stories seriously people… *headdesk*

It’s still 100 degrees outside the warm Pumpkin Spice or Hot Chocolate is wrong.

Yes! I find it difficult getting in the mood for the various holidays at all.
Because by the time it’s there, I’m already sick of all the decorations and various thing related to it, hanging in the stores for ages.
There’s no excitement anymore because of it.

  3. Maybe it’s because I grew up in an Orthodox Jewish household, but the holiday trappings being brought out earlier and earlier every year always got on my nerves. I was never allowed to celebrate Halloween when I was younger, and of course Christmas was never a part of my life. Being bombarded with all the music, decorations, holiday promotions — I hated it. It’s one of the things I miss not at all from when I lived in the US.

Samhain decorations arrived in shops in Ireland the day children went back to school. Selection boxes (candy in boxes) and Christmas decorations in Brown Thomas in Dublin. Shops use to wait till end of September for Samhain and after Oiche Samhain Christmas arrives…now it’s continually bombardment….
