Ohhh Interesting question to put out to the blog…

Lets see… if I think back far enough – I’m going to say maybe ER or Star Wars … I do know that it was Obi-wan/Qui-Gon that introduced me to slash for the first…

  2. Riddick

I think it was either Harry Potter or Star Gate, but then I found The Sentinel, NCIS, and many others. My favorites now are, of course Sylum and Keira Markos’ stories “The Sentinels of Atlantis”, “What Might Have Been” and “The Ties That Bind” and her Harry Potter stories.

I really like “The Sentinels of Atlantis”, specially Jack and Patrick Sheppard, they are a gorgeous pair. I dont know much about “The Sentinel”, but the plot is fantastic,

My favorite fandoms (I’ll pick just a few) ….any fandom Keira Marcos writes in…Teen Wolf, Hawaii Five-0 (2010), The Avengers, Gundam Wing, Highlander….those are the ones I keep coming back to.

The first fandom I read fic for was probably Star Wars and I’m sure it was either Luke/Mara or Jaina Solo/Jagged Fel. I was slowly introduced to slash then I started watching CSI: NY (because of Eddie Kahill (Don Flack)) which then led to Miami when then led to Sylum and it all went down hill from there 😀

Some of them. Some are very hard to find good fic for and some the writers and the fandom themselves annoy me so much. But I have to say I will read fic for most of the fandoms I write in 🙂

  5. If it is the first book – My first was Black Beauty, if it’s Fanfiction – than Supernatural, and still is my favorite right along with J2. I am now hooked on Sylum especially the characters (bet you can’t guess!) of Dean and Sam. But also Capt Jack, Will Turner and Tony Stark. I would love a tale of Dean, Capt’ Jack and Tony getting together. Poor mates…… Maybe this will could be a story one day??? Pretty please!!!!

I believe my first fanfic was CSI and it was introduced to me by my sister. I think the pairing was Nick/Greg or NCIS Gibbs/Tony. I’m certain that I’ll never remember the actual title of the story.

My first was a Harry Potter fan fiction which was lonnnggg, but complete and so not like anything I read now. All I can recall was it was fluffy Het.

For the most now I read slash for Grimm, Graceland, Revolution and Hannibal. Plus some Avengers and Losers when I am not introducing myself to a new (for me) Sylum Fandom.

Its a new USA show about undercover agents from multiple agencies living in a beach house, stars Daniel Sunjata from Rescue Me and Aaron Trevit who was in Les Miserables, plus Vanessa Ferlito aka Aiden Burns.

I love USA shows and I miss Aiden so I decided to try it out.

  8. I am…late, posting here. But I thought this was a not so bad a place to say hello, as someone who’s both a long time Sylum lurker, and knows a few of you, though I’ve been out of contact. (Sorry!) So, hi? And hope to be not-so-much a lurker, maybe?

I am enjoying this discussion. I can’t remember the first fic I read because it was in a zine over 30 years ago. I remember mimographed zines that were in the dealers’ room at Star Trek cons so probably it was Star Trek. The internet has made a huge change. Now, you can create a website and post your own stories or join a fandom and make your own contributions.

I grew up reading Andre Norton, Alan Nourse and Heinlein juveniles. When I read the Lord of the Rings, I was hooked on fantasy. I write in a variety of television and book fandoms. My favorites are Magnificent 7, Numb3rs, Lord of the Rings, Leverage, Dollhouse and anything featuring strong females.
