Coffee House Friday
For today’s Coffee House Discussion…
Who inspires you?
One Major Rule – Be Respectful.
We all have our opinions on everything.
Just because you don’t agree with someone elses doesn’t give you the right to bash, ridicule or disrespect the other person.
Who inspires you?
It depends on the context. There are people who are public figures that inspire me, and there are people in my life that inspire me. One is more philosophical and the ones I know reach me on a much more personal level.
Too many people to list. As a Catholic it starts with the Holy Mother, all the Angels, the Saints whose lives are a constant inspiration. Then it moves to those heroes of art, science, history and society – from Alexander the Great, to US Grant, to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, to Robert Downey Jr and Russell Crowe. Then to fictional characters from Sherlock Holme, to Tony Stark, to Optimus Prime.
Maybe you should suggest inspiration in a particular field?
Abraham Lincoln inspires me – that man underwent so much and held body, soul and nation together.
Ridley Scott inspires me – his films are amazing.
Pope Francis inspires me – bringing new perspectives on love to a world in sore need of it.
Senator Leahy inspires me – for his compassion and commitment to a better world.
Shakespeare inspires me – to want to write better!
Hell, even Dan Brown inspires me – just don’t tell him I said that.
I would have to say my mom! She is a truly awesome woman! I have Aspergers, because of that I needed a little more help then my other siblings.
My mother inspire me because she went head to head with my teachers through all my years of school , and I belive that I would never have been were I am in life today without her!
Tons of people have inspired me in so many ways but for the sake of not being here all day I’ll just talk about the first three that come to mind.
One of the most inspirational people that I have ever heard about would be Alice Paul. She fought for what she belived in and refused to give up even when she ended up going to a work camp for it. She may have gone a little far at times but she never gave up and that is something that I think we can all look up to.
Another inspirational person to me is Jeremy Renner because he was ignored by Hollywood for so long but he never gave up doing what he wanted. Once he started getting noticed he didn’t change who he was just because he was famous now. He’s still the same kind, funny, and derpy person that he’s always been.
Daniel Agger is another person that I find inspiration in because he reminds us that loyalty isn’t dead and that it will be rewarded when it is shown. I love that because so many people ignore loyalty or say that it is dead so it is nice to have a reminder that no it isn’t dead.
Few people inspire me in different fields.
Religion …the office of the Pope. Some Popes not so much, but His Holiness office and what it stands for make you fell you can do anything. The current Pope Francis, is a great man destined for higher and greater things. The Holy Mother and St. Michael have been an inspiration for me in my every day life.
Politics…Michael Collins and Eamon DeVelera/Sean LeMass. These men brought Ireland kicking and screaming into the modern day…current Politicans…not so much.
Authors…anyone who writes for Sylum. I know it’s good when I sit and watch a program on TV and saw something that has happened in a fic that I’ve read, and I get strange looks from the family… Majority of my family think that I have lost the plot or having a minor conniption because I have read something or in the midst of reading something…
