Here in Germany the presents are given to the recipients on Christmas Eve. When Kids are present we like to toss the dice and the one who got a six may look for a present with his name on and open it. This is always funny! This takes the frenzy out of the opening as everybody has to wait until the present has been opend before the tossing continues 😀 And we like to eat raclette.

When I was a little girl, the family would always let me hand out the presents. It was done one present at a time and each person got to have their present uhhed and ahhed over before the next was handed out. Sometimes Mom and Grandma would have to remind me to open one of my own presents. I was having too much fun watching everyone to remember my own!
No wild scrabble in my family, and we all enjoyed it that way.
It made Christmas last that much longer for us.
    I miss those days…
