So who’s traced their genealogy?
My dad has done a good amount, and found some interesting things (we won’t mention the ax murder in the family line)

I started researching not long after I graduated from high school. A cousin wrote a book about the family since it’s one of the founding families of the county I live in. This was in the days of using books, microphish & libraries. One maternal ancestor started Fort Necessity as a pre-French/Indian War trading post. My lineage says I’m German-Irish from the Tuatha dé Danann and Vikings, but my DNA says I’m Roman, English, & Nordic with a touch of Nigerian.
On my mother’s side, Aunt Jennie Hodgers left Ireland in 1860, went to US and fought in the Civil War as a man. Was only discovered after serving for 2 tears, when she was shot in the leg. Doctor kept her secret till the end if the war.
