Lost Sock Memorial Day

Lost Sock Memorial Day

Let’s take a moment to mourn all those socks lost in the dryer.

Do you have a basket filled with unmatched socks or wear them as unmatched sets?

OMG, YES!!! There are four people in this household and I swear half of the many dozens of socks get mismatched or I can’t find them, only to find a solo sock in the next load of socks that matches the one I was frantically searching for the previous wash. Luckily, Lily and Julian usually do their own laundry nowadays. Occasionally I find several of Lily’s socks when Merry has swept up dirty clothes to bring downstairs so I can wash her clothes, which I don’t mind doing for the family breadwinner.
The reason I can tell, is Lily is only 5’1″ tall ( she takes after her father’s side of the family), and has tiny feet. Plus she doesn’t care about mismatched socks — they are a thing she’s done for years. Except for her work socks. She works at a Texas Roadhouse near us to make money to go to the local community college and take their culinary courses to become a chef. I am SO proud of her!!!
Anyway, I recently got a huge boost to my ragbag from unmatched socks. They make great dust rags, furniture polish rags and floor spill rags.
I don’t do windows, can’t hold my arms up for that long without passing out. I may be old, but I am still kickin’ in spite of things I am physically unable to accomplish these days.
Who knew they had a missing socks day? Who knew??
