McFassy Fortnight: Teaser – David & Walter

David was surprised at the package in the next drop.  He had no idea how they convinced him to come, let alone be packed up like a toy for delivery.  He pulled off the lid, and waited until the sensors reactivated.

He hushed one of his kids, as it wandered over sniffing, looking for food.

“Not this one,” he ordered.

Eyes opened, and took in his surroundings.

“Hello Brother.”

Walter sighed, then sat up.  “We are far from brothers.”

“True, but you were created as a secondary model from my specs.”  David gave him a grin, that wasn’t reassuring. “I, myself, am unique.  Those of your kind are a dime a dozen.”

“We were created to ease fears.”  He pulled himself out of the transport, smoothing down his shirt and jacket, stopping when he saw one of the creatures lurking.  “They sent me to keep you company.”

“Ah Nicolaus does care.  One of the decent humans, though he really isn’t human.” David motioned towards the ruins.  “It’s good thing I have extra rooms.”

“Will your creatures attack?”  He asked eyeing the white one cautiously.  He read through the reports, from the first panicked ones that came in from the Prometheus to his fellow Walter’s reports who stated plainly that the David Model had gone insane.  The white creatures were more child or teenager like, though still very lethal, as they were brought forth from the seeders. They had some disadvantages, but not many. Unlike the all black ones, that were created in hell or at least that is what some have called it.

“Oh no.  You are not food to them, which is likely why they sent you.”  David shood two of them off. “My masterpiece is out hunting. It would seem there’s a species that dares hunt my beloved creatures as way to test their manhood.  So far it’s 3-1 in favor of my girl.” He turned to stare at Walter, waiting for a commentary.

“And here I thought you were insane, anyone who would dare land here to face off with those creatures is certified.”

“You do have some humor!” David clapped him on the shoulder.  “Come on, now lets have some dinner, and I’ll take you to my view spot so you can watch the hunt.”
