National Watch Day!

It’s a Micky Mouse Watch … does that mean?  Yes!  You’re getting a Sylum Snippet!

More importantly – FINALLY one of the requested Pairings!

Leonardo tried to act casual as his Mate packed his suitcases.  It was only for a few weeks, a couple of lectures, a small class, nothing unusual or even challenging.  He just didn’t like the fact he was going to be only 545 miles from Toronto, from Teabing.

Robert assured him nothing would happen, and he believed him.  It was just that he didn’t trust Teabing as far as he could get Ezio to toss him.  Should’ve let the really hot Italian kill him.

The bags were packed and were now waiting by the door.

“Don’t give me that sigh.”  Robert glanced over at his Mate, as he picked up his Mickey Mouse watch.  It was actually the fifth version of the one Leo had bought him when they had gone to Disneyland for the first time when it opened in 1955.  The watch from 1933, one of the first Mickey Mouse watch that was ever made, was locked in a safe, it only came out on special occasions.  He had fallen in love with the character the first time he saw him in Steamboat Willie back in 1928.  And has never worn any other watch except Mickey Mouse since.

They don’t talk about how the first one got destroyed.

The second one had been Langdon’s fault.  He had been researching in an old library, climbing up ladders and pulling books off way to high shelves.  The ladder slipped, and he and the bookcase came tumbling down.  He was banned from the Archive, until he came back as his own grandkid.  Unfortunately, the watch hadn’t survived the heavy oak bookcase landing on his wrist, actually neither had his wrist.

The third time was Leo’s fault.  Let’s just say watches don’t do well when they get accidentally fired with the latest clay project that his genius Mate had come up with in his sleep deprived mind.

The last time was after ‘That Night’.  Ironically, the watch had survived the whole night, it was the trip on the stairs from being sleep deprived that had finished it off.

Leo reached out and took the watch from his Mate’s hand and put it on the elegant wrist.  “You call me every night.”

“You won’t remember to pick up the phone, or even charge it.”  Robert gave him a half smile.

“I’ll make sure Eowin does it for me.”  Leo fidgeted with the leather band.  “If anything odd happens, I don’t care what it is Robert, you call me so I can call in the Marines.”

“You mean Nico.”  Robert sighed, pulling his wrist out of Leo’s grasp then cupped his cheek rubbing a thumb over the stubble.

“Yes and his crazy brother, who’s not his brother but is.”  Leo leaned into the touch.  “The one with all the sharp knives.”

“I promise you I won’t do anything stupid.”  He gave his Mate a quick kiss, then grabbed his laptop bag and headed out the door.

Leo sighed, grabbed his phone and called Nico.

A wonderful snippet! Poor Mickey has been through the wringer — a number of times! Leo ought to buy the company that makes them so Robert has a new one every time he breaks one. I wouldn’t be surprised if the two of them owned shares in Disney.
    Now, about Teabing…
