Author’s Note:  These are three new characters coming into Sylum.  Story is actually being written, because Speed my beloved other half somehow convinced me – so this is for them.   It’s been a while since got an idea and the story just flows off the fingers (it’s actually kinda nice).

If you can guess the inspiration you’ll get a virtual cookie 🙂

Images and tiny tiny snippet under the cut!

Characters:

Richard Fullerton: Chef – Turned in 1910

***

Matthew Thompson: Craftsman/Builder – Turned in 1943

***

Alex Regan: Designer – Turned in 2020

“Oy! You call this food?”  The voice was loud and held a sense of astonishment while being completely pissed off.  “This garbage, I wouldn’t feed this to my dog, hell why don’t we drop it along the German lines, maybe we can kill them with food poisoning.”

“Don’t act like you can do better, Limey.” The burley New Yorker got into the new guy’s face.  “I don’t care if you’re some fancy chef that cooked for the King himself.  This is good ol’ American food.”

“It’s crap.”

“Then you can cook for these ungrateful bastards.   When they revolt, don’t come knockin’ on my door!”

Matt barely moved out of Smitty’s way, then focused on the new guy.  “So this would be a bad time to ask about lunch for my men?”

“Give me ten to clean this pigsty.”  The look of disgust only got worse as he glanced around the kitchen.  “How did you eat this slop?”

“It wasn’t too bad.”  Matt shrugged, it wasn’t that good either but no one dared complain.  It was hot and edible, and only a few got the shits.  “I’m Captain Matthew Thompson, one of the carpenters.”

“Chef Richard Fullerton.”  He wiped his hands on a section of towel that was somewhat clean.  “So Matt, does anyone here know you’re a Vampire?”

Matt froze in place, hand still in a firm grip of the chef.  “How the fuck?”

“No heartbeat.”  His fingers slid across the pulse point on Matt’s wrist, what was disturbing was that he didn’t want him to stop.  “I also spent time with a Hunter, who hammered into my head about noticing that type of thing in case of Rogues.”

“Rogues?”  He sat down at one of the tables staring at the chef in trepidation and awe.  “I’ve only met my Sire, he gave me a name and a place to visit, kinda forgetting that I’m an American soldier on English soil, and have no idea where the hell Marazion is, let alone some guy named Arthur.”

Richard laughed hard and long, before calming down and taking in the overwhelmed soldier.  “When were you Turned?”

“Six months ago.”

Loved the snippet! Honestly, I’ve no idea what the inspiration is. The only things that came to my mind was Food Network(chef) and HGTV(carpenter and designer).
And I know that CAN’T be right!
