Update: Website & Blog

There has been some updates to the blog and the actual website.

First – The Blog: 

  • I’ve moved some things around in the menus, to make things easier to find especially if you’re on mobile and can’t see the sliders.   So the wiki has been added to the secondary header, as well as ‘Donate/Support’ Sylum and a few links on how you can do that.
  • Link to the Archive has been added to Sylum Information along with a secondary link to the old archive.

Second – The Website:

  • We’ve removed the Art & Music pages as everything that was Sylum Canon was moved to the new Archive.   So the only links from the main website is the: Blog, Wiki, Archive and Store.
  • The Old Sylum Archive – is still active and a link can be found in the headers and on the sideline of the blog.  Make note now – this will not be surviving much longer, as we are getting down to the last stories being moved over.   If there is anything you want from that archive start getting it now.  I will tell you this – anything labeled AU/Non-Canon on that archive will not be moved.  Also any of the old Stargate and H50 storyline will not be moved as they’ve all become Non-Canon.  So get it now …

Website Update: Art & Vids

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes on the website.

The Art Room has been updated!

The Music Room has been updated!

If you haven’t check out the Sylum Website in a while, should check it out.  We’ve streamlined it, after removing the Guest Archive.  Take a look, wander around the Art  and Music Rooms, plus check out links to the Sylum Stores.

Our Resident Artist, Taibhrigh, does a great job keeping the website updated and looking good!

Reminder: Guest Archive Closes May 1st

 

Reminder: Guest Archive Closing

The Sylum Guest Archive will be Closing on April 30th.

To Clarify this isn’t the Sylum Archive!  Repeat this isn’t the Sylum Archive!

So you can stop flailing 🙂

This is the Guest Archive where authors uploaded their personal fanfic stories.

None of these stories are Sylum related.

Authors: If you have stories posted please make sure you have copies or download them off the Archive before the 30th.

Readers: If you have favorite stories that you want to keep, make sure you download copies before the 30th.

I’m sorry to state that since E-Fiction is an older program and not supported, there is no easy way to download the stories.  Basically you’ll have to copy/paste.

Suggestion Made from Lady Jax: One (slightly labor intensive) way to keep stories you like. Rather than copy/ paste, save it as a PDF. Click on the print icon on a story and if your computer has the capacity to save as PDF, choose that as the print option. I’ve uploaded stories that way via Calibre on to my tablet. It’s not ideal but it saves me from copy/paste.

Site Maintenance: November 5th

Warning!! Upcoming Site Maintenance!! November 5th!

Tomorrow our web host servers will be updating our SQL Databases to do this they will be migrating our website onto another server.  This will start at 10 am tomorrow (pacific time) … yes yes I know they picked the most convenient time to do this!!  This will take 24 hours to transfer.

The site will be accessible most of the time. But there could be blips, delays or downtime through out the day.

It is your basic multi-fandom fic archive, that was designed for those in the Sylum Community to read fanfic and post their own stories for others to enjoy.

The Guest Archive is for everyone.

So if you’re looking for new things to read or have fanfic that you want to upload/post – then the Guest Archive is the place to be!!
