The past few months had been rough; between the shooting and investigation Speed was worn out and needed to get away. He smirked slightly, having to admit the expression on Stetler’s face when he found out not only had Speed’s gun been clean but in good maintenance, and it was faulty bullets that had jammed it, seemed almost worth getting shot, almost.
He rubbed his shoulder, sore from sitting so long. He knew the moment he heard about Nick Stokes being kidnapped, he had to get to Las Vegas. Warrick would be beside himself with worry and guilt. The Vegas CSI had come out to see him after he had been shot, and even stayed with him for a week helping adjust back from the hospital. Speed had never felt so loved and cherished. He wasn’t sure how it was working, but it was. The two had a comfortable relationship even at a far distance apart, which was why he knew he needed to be there for Warrick now.
It had taken some yelling, whining, and finally sicing ‘mom’ on Horatio to let him go. He understood they were down, but he needed to get to Vegas. He could tell by Warrick’s tone that something was wrong, and he needed to be there for him.
Speed grabbed his carry-on and moved quickly out of the airport towards the rental agency. He dialed Warrick’s cell again, trying to reach his lover and let him know he was here, but once again it went straight to voice mail.
“Damn it Warrick where the hell are you?” Speed growled into the phone. “I’m here in Vegas and I can’t find you. Call me! I’m staying at the MGM. It was the only place I could find at short notice believe it or not. I would prefer to stay with you, but since I can’t get a hold of you… Call me.”
He got the car and tossed his bag into the seat before driving out to the Crime Lab. He had a wayward lover to find.

Speed stood in the parking lot in the dying afternoon sun, staring in shock. “What?”
“Look… Tim…”
“Don’t you ‘look Tim’, me!” He stepped back. “Explain to me how my lover suddenly upped and got married?”
“It’s not like we had anything long term or a commitment,” Warrick stated low, watching people pass them by.
Speed stepped back as if he had been hit, “Excuse me? Thanks for telling me that the past three years have been a fucking joke. I’ve been committed to you and only you.”
Warrick’s mouth dropped, “You…” He ran a hand through his hair. “I mean…”
“When I say I love you, it doesn’t mean ‘hey nice fuck, see you next time you’re in town’.” He took a deep breath. “I even called Grissom about transferring… Fuck this!” He turned and walked back towards his car.
“Speed…”
Speed turned around his eyes cold and hard. “Congratulations. I wish you all the happiness you two deserve.”
Warrick stood in the fading sunset, wondering if he just made the biggest mistake of his life.
“That would be a yes,” Nick stated as he walked by.
Warrick looked at him, “Excuse me?”
“No, actually that was the second biggest mistake of your life; the first would be getting married.” The Texan gave him a salute. “Have a good night…”
“Shift’s just starting,” Warrick pointed out.
“Pulled a double, Cath sent me home.” Nick hopped into his truck and headed out. He looked back to see Warrick still standing in the parking lot looking lost. “Your loss bro’.” He stopped at the light and made a decision before grabbing his cell phone to make a few calls.

“Buy you a drink?”
Speed looked over at the young man who sat down next to him. “What are you doing here?”
“Figured you needed a drink and a friend,” Nick smiled at him. “You weren’t the only one shocked as hell he got up and married.”
“I thought he would leave me for you,” Tim eyed the Texan. “He always talked about you; Nick this, Nicky that… his boy just can’t stay out of trouble.”
Nick handed him a beer, “I hear you’re a magnet for trouble yourself.”
“Hey whatever Calleigh said it isn’t true, and don’t even deny you’re chatting with her. She gushes when the cute Texan calls.” Speed smirked at him taking the beer.
“Damn, my mole is found out,” Stokes grinned. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be, not your fault I fell for the ladies’ man.” Speed sipped his beer. “Hell, who is this girl? I suspected he’d been seeing other people. Warrick isn’t the type to just stay at home. It was one of the reasons I thought of transferring to Vegas. But in all his calls I’ve never heard this Tina mentioned.”
“He had been dating her for a few weeks before my… well…” Nick hesitated.
Speed turned towards him, “You want to get out of this tourist trap of a bar?”
Nick nodded, his brown eyes searching Speed’s. “Let’s go someplace private.”
“Won’t change the way we feel,” Speed countered moving towards the exit.
“No, but at least we won’t be alone.”

He knew they shouldn’t, but at that moment Nick tasted too good. Speed moaned as the kiss deepened, and strong hands slipped under his shirt caressing softly along his spine. Nick pulled him close, their hard erections rubbing against each other.
“God…” Speed pushed him towards the bed. “Talented hands you got there…”
The Texan grinned, “You just wait and see how talented my mouth is.”
Tim groaned as the two stumbled onto the bed. “First things first, clothes off… now.”
Nick paused and reached up, caressing the scar on Speed’s shoulder. “From when you got shot?”
“How did you know about that?” he asked, tracing his finger down the muscular chest.
“Warrick freaked when he got the call from Calleigh,” he sighed and began to pull away. “Maybe this isn’t a good idea.”
Speed reached out and pulled him back into his arms, kissing him deeply. “He’s not here. He made his choice.” He pushed Nick down onto the bed. “He’s moved on and its time we did too.”
The two became lost in each other’s bodies, tongues mapping out sensitive areas, and hands caressing over hot skin. Speed took his time in preparing Nick, before entering him in one slow, even thrust. Twin moans echoed when he was completely buried inside the willing body. Nick wrapped his arms and legs around the leaner man and arched upward pulling him in deeper. Speed kissed him as he began to thrust, sliding over that one spot, sending sparks of pleasure up the Texan’s spine.
Nick let go of the brunette’s shoulder and began to stroke his own cock in time with each thrust. Speed’s thrusts began to come harder, as the he started to lose control.
He looked down into the warm brown eyes of Nick Stokes, who in turn looked up and squeezed around him, “I’ve got you.”
Speed moaned as he thrust in as deep as he could and came with a loud shout. He barely held himself up from falling on his new lover, his arms shaking with the effort. Nick stroked his own cock, so close to the edge, his eyes lidded in pleasure. Speed pulled out and removed his hand. Nick watched him with wide eyes as he took the hard cock into his mouth and sucked on the head, while his hand cupped his balls. Nick’s head fell back on the pillows as he arched up and screamed out his release.
Tim cleaned the both of them up and crawled back into the bed. “You’re welcome to stay.”
Nick rolled onto his side and looked at the Miami native. “What is Miami like?”
“Why?” Speed asked.
“I need to get out of this city,” he sighed, “too many memories.”
“I like it; it’s warm, humid though.” Tim shrugged. “Are you sure? I mean…”
“Calleigh said there was a spot open, and she seems nice. She talks about your team, like it’s a family.” Nick rolled onto his back. “I had that once. Then we were split, and now it’s as if we don’t know each other anymore. Maybe it’s me and not them.”
Speed sat up and looked down at the Texan. “I’m sure Horatio would gladly take you. You have a great reputation, and from what Warrick told me, your style of investigating would fit Horatio’s methods very well.”
“And this?” Nick motioned between them.
The scruffy CSI gave him a small smile. “I don’t know. We can see what happens.”
Nick pulled him back into his arms and kissed him softly before the two settled comfortably on the bed. “Though one last question.”
Speed yawned, “What?”
“So those alligators…”
A small snicker and soft snore was his only answer. Nick held him close as thoughts raced through his mind. Maybe Warrick’s big mistake was Nick’s gain. Miami was beginning to look more and more like a good idea.
