Nick couldn’t believe this was happening. He blinked at Horatio a few times; his mouth even tried to form words but it just wasn’t working. He glanced over towards Speed, who had a blank expression. Things had been stressed since Warrick showed up at Speed’s doorstep, at their doorstep, with his little announcement.
Warrick had made it quite clear he was there to fix things. He was wrong and stupid, and now he’s going to win them back.
Them.
As in both of them.
They had just stared at him, who in turn gave them a small smile and left as quickly as he had shown up.
Neither had heard from him since that night, until now.
“It seems Vegas is moving to Miami.” Calleigh grinned at Warrick. “Welcome to the team.”
“Thanks.” Warrick smiled and glanced over at the two other team members.
Nick just stared at him, his head shaking. “Bro?”
“Can’t break up the best Forensic team.” Warrick smiled. “You and me; we’re the best.”
Speed frowned, eyes narrowing. “Welcome to Miami, Warrick. I’m sure your wife will love it here.”
The tension in the room thickened. Rick turned towards Speed with a sad smile. “Divorced.”
“I didn’t even know you were married,” Calleigh said, a bit surprised. “Though I am sorry.”
“It was a big mistake; we parted on good terms. She actually encouraged me to come out here.” He looked over at the two men.
Speed stood up and walked out of the break room, startling the occupants. “Don’t mind him.” Calleigh rolled her eyes. “It’s just the way he is.”
Warrick just nodded, and glanced over at Nick. “Since you’ve been here a while, Nicky…”
“Nick.” He stood up and threw his coffee away. “Calleigh is better suited to show you around. I’ve got a case to finish up.”
Calleigh watched as Nick left, and then turned to Warrick. “Okay, what the hell is going on.”
“Me not doing a good job at fixing things.”
She sighed and leaned forward. “Tell me everything and I’ll see what I can do to help.” She sat and listened as Warrick laid it all out on the line. The relationship with Speed, one he had thought was just fun. She shook her head; she knew Speed and he didn’t get into any relationship that he wasn’t committed to, and knew he had talked about transferring. Then he was back in Miami with Nick Stokes, and now she knew why.
“So let me get this straight. You fooled around with my friend, made him think there was more when there wasn’t, then went and got married, only to have him find out, where he dumped your ass and hooked up with your best friend. And suddenly you realized that both men meant more to you than you thought. Divorced your wife and transferred to Miami to woo them both?”
“Well when you put it like that, it sounds outrageous, but yes.” Rick sunk into his chair.
“First bet of advice?” She stood up and headed for the door. “Pray to God that he hasn’t mentioned this to Alexx, or you will be dead before you get the tour of the lab.”
“And if she doesn’t know?” Warrick asked.
“Get her on your good side.” Calleigh patted him on the shoulder. “Speed is her baby. You don’t hurt her baby and live to tell the tale. But if she happens to like you, and thinks you’re good for her baby, you’ll be fine.”
Warrick stood up and followed her out of the break room. “Well shall we get this tour started?”
“First stop morgue.” She walked down the hall towards Alexx’s domain.
“You have an evil streak,” Warrick commented as he followed her down the hall.
She gave him a small smirk. “I’m just a sweet southern belle.”
“Well if it isn’t Warrick Brown gracing my morgue.” Alexx stared at him hands on her hips.
Rick smiled at her. “Dr. Woods.”
“I suggest you explain to me what you’re doing here, and what you did to my baby?” Her voice dropped into a low tone.
Warrick smiles disappeared. “Yes ma’am.”

“Speed?” Nick leaned against the counter and watched the other man move around the lab.
“What do you want me to say?” He set the samples in one of the machines.
“I have no idea actually.” Nick shook his head. “I…part of me is happy to see him. We had a lot good years as friends. The other part wants to dump him out with the alligators.”
Speed smirked. “Well momma Alexx might beat us to it.”
“That woman scares me.” He shook his head. “Though does he deserve her wrath…”
They just looked at each other.
“Hell yeah.”

Warrick looked out from his hotel room, towards the rundown pool and parking lot. He had been in Miami now for six weeks and was not closer to his goal than he was sitting in Vegas in a dark apartment wondering when he had fucked his life up to this extreme. He knew how to woo Nick: some good barbeque, some sport tickets, and just hanging out. Speed was a different creature. He was more of a cooked dinner at home, lecture or exhibit, and coffee. The problem was, if he catered to one, he would be ignoring the other.
How the hell do you woo two guys? Especially when momma was ready to kill you if you screw up. Maybe the problem was he was trying too hard. The best part of a good relationship was friendship. He had that with both men, and lost it. He had to get that back before he could start to woo them.
Warrick sat back down on the bed and sighed. So now he had to figure out how to become their friends again, and found himself in the same dilemma. “You’re a stupid fool, getting yourself into this situation in the first place!”
He turned his head and looked at the door. Who would be at his door this late at night?
“Open the damn door Warrick,” Nick yelled. “If I end up a damn crime scene because of your shitty neighborhood, I’m not going to be happy.”
Rick got up and opened the door and looked at Nick. “You’ve been hangin’ with Speed a bit too much.”
“We drove into this neighborhood; don’t be insulting us.” Speed walked in. “And if my bike gets stolen – dead man.”
Warrick looked at the two of them. “What are you doing here?”
“We decided besides you being an asshole, you’re our asshole, so we’re saving you from the hookers and pimps and taking you home with us,” Tim stated as he packed Rick’s stuff.
He looked at Nick. “What he said.” He smiled at the taller man. “There’s a lot that we have to work out, and you still are in the dog house, but if this is going to work…”
“We all three have to be on board.” Speed looked around the room. “I so don’t want to know what is in those sheets.”
Warrick stared at the two of them. “So now what?”
“We go home, Speed is going to fix us a home cooked meal…”
“I am?”
“Yes, you are.” Nick ignored him. “Then you are going to sleep in the guest room, get some rest, and you can start your plans to woo.”
“Who said anything about wooing?” He looked at the two of them. He should be scared at the matching ‘don’t bullshit me look’. Very scared. “Yes wooing…”
“Let’s go.” Speed stepped towards the door; he paused and stopped in front of Warrick. “Fuck us over, and I’m letting Alexx loose.”
Warrick swallowed and nodded; that woman scared him. “I swear to both of you, this…here… us is the only thing I want.” He looked over at Nick and then back at Speed.
Tim gave him a soft smile and pulled him down for a short kiss, before quickly stepping past them and heading back towards the waiting vehicles. Warrick turned towards Nick; he reached out smiling when Nick stepped into his arms. He gently kissed him, teasing his lips before deepening the kiss, exploring his mouth. Both men stepped back, panting slightly. Nick blushed lightly and stepped back. “As corny as this sounds, wow.”
Warrick smiled and cupped Nick’s cheek. He had a lot of amends to make, each different for each man. He had missed Nick greatly, his presences, friendship, just him being there. He was a fool all these years to look elsewhere for companionship when it had been in front of him the whole time. Though he knew Tim was just as special. He may have made some stupid mistakes, but overall the path that he has walked lead him here, and he can’t resent that at all.
“Let’s go before Speed starts ranting,” Nick drawled slightly.
“He gets cranky if someone twitches at his bike.” He chuckled as they left the hotel room. “Have you ridden it?”
“HELL NO!” Nick shook his head. “Have you?”
Warrick smiled, “Yeah…” He leaned over and whispered in Nick’s ear. “Holding onto him tightly as he races down the highway…” he paused and looked at Speed as he leaned against the machine. “It’s worth the e-ticket.”
Nick smirked and turned back towards Rick. “Then you can drive my car home, since I know you’ve been taking taxis to work. I’ll let Speed take me home.”
Warrick shook his head, laughing. “I’ll see you at home.”
They both smiled at him. “Yeah. Home.”
