Gil hummed softly as he studied the insects moving around the trees. He glanced up towards the hacienda, noting Horatio reading on the hammock and he could make out movement inside the house. His focus turned once again towards the bug, totally enthralled at its movements.

They had decided in the end just to stay in Brazil. Horatio had money stashed aside, and had quietly retired from the Miami-Dade Police Department and invested the money into a small home on the outskirts of Rio, not far from the large bustling city, but quiet and secluded. Gil had also retired, leaving the Vegas Crime Lab. Ecklie hadn’t seemed too surprised, but made sure Gil would be available for consultant work. Timothy had just sent his resignation in, and that was that. Neither man was surprised when the yellow Ducati showed up in the garage.

Gil corralled the bug into a small cage and headed back to the house. It hadn’t been perfect; there were a lot of adjustments that had to be made. There were times there had been a lot of screaming, crying, and even a few black eyes. But in the end they were still holding strong. Tim was the glue between them; somehow he kept them all together. The older man paused and watched Horatio relax in the swing while reading. The two men had long talks about life, love, and duty – the conflicts and rewards that arose with each. The redhead didn’t let people truly into his heart, much like Gil didn’t. They had found a common ground in loving someone so much younger that brought life to their world and how it completely freaked them out. He still couldn’t fully understand how Caine had walked away from Tim, but he could see why he did it.

The two men had had such different lives growing up; taken different avenues yet strived for the same things. Grissom smiled as he walked up to the hammock holding up his new specimen. He would probably never love Horatio the way he loved Nick or loves Tim, but the redhead did hold a special place in his heart. And he had no doubt it was the same for him.

“What is that?” Horatio looked over his sunglasses at the cage. “And tell me you’re not taking it into the house?”

“You don’t like my new bug?” Gil teased admiring the creature.

Caine’s eyebrow went up. “Don’t let Speed see it.”

Grissom paused. “Good point. Where is Tim anyway?”

“I heard a curse, some cupboards slam, pots and pans crashing, more cursing then the roar of the Ducati.” Horatio stated as he continued reading. “My guess a spice was missing.”

Gil set the cage down on the patio railing. “What’s he cooking?”

“Something I can’t pronounce,” he laughed. “So now is when I would sneak in your new pet into your study/atrium/mad scientist hangout.”

Grissom rolled his eyes, then leaned over and gave him a soft kiss. “You’re just jealous of my mad scientist hangout.”

“You don’t let me play in it,” he reached and pulled him down for a deeper kiss.

Gil groaned before pulling back up; he was too old to be bending over like a pretzel. “That’s because you tend to blow things up.” He grabbed the cage and ran into the house before their younger lover saw the new bug, smiling when he heard Horatio’s laughter.

It had taken the two of them a while to become comfortable enough with each other to become lovers. He set the cage down and sat behind his desk to write down some notes.

He remembered it like it was yesterday.

He had come in from a walk, to find Horatio and Tim making out on the couch. Gil Grissom had always known he was a bit of a voyeur. He could sit and watch the two love each other for hours; Horatio would worship Tim’s body, touching, licking, caressing every inch. Slowly bringing the young man to the edge and then pulling back, until Tim was begging for release.

This was one of those moments, Horatio had Tim on the edge; the young man was practically sobbing with need. Gil was achingly hard just watching when Horatio’s intense blue eyes turned on him and he gave this boyish smile. ‘Wanna play?’

Tim had looked between the two of them; it was a big step the three of them. So far it had been Speed with one or the other, neither man jealous but not quite ready to have the third in the bed. Horatio held out his hand towards Gil, his eyes full of lust, passion, and even a bit of love. Grissom grinned as he stood up, stripping out of his shirt and shoes as he went. ‘He looks beautiful laid out ready for us to take him.’

Speed moaned and pushed his aching erection into Horatio’s hand. Gil’s eyes were glued to the big leaking cock. He knelt down next to the couch and licked over the head, enjoying the taste that was Timothy Speedle. He looked over at the redhead, who was watching him with lust filled eyes. He took the final step and pulled Horatio to him, taking his mouth into a deep kiss. The rest of the night was spent exploring new territories and memorizing new zones of pleasure.

Gil shifted in his seat, his erection pressing against the zipper of his pants. He shook his head; he needed to concentrate on his new specimen, not think about how hot Horatio looked laid out on the bed with Tim riding his hard cock and Gil buried deep inside him. He tossed the pen down and went outside for a small walk, maybe he can entice the redhead into some nooky on the hammock.

Speed set the bags down in the kitchen, preparing to make dinner. He couldn’t believe he was missing basil. BASIL, a spice that every kitchen with a decent chef should have. He grumbled as he unpacked the bags. Looking out the kitchen window he smiled seeing Horatio asleep, his book settled onto the defined chest. The months in Brazil had done the redhead good. His coloring was back, the dullness in his eyes was gone, and he was almost back to his weight before, well, before her.

He glanced past the patio towards the rain forest to see if Gil was wandering looking for some new bugs, but didn’t see him. Which meant he had ventured farther into the rain forest, or was hiding in his office with a new bug. The young man eyed the office. There was a serious disadvantage loving a man who enjoyed bugs; they’re all over the house. Of course it didn’t help loving a man who liked to blow up things either.

Speed stepped out onto the patio, to ask Horatio if he had seen their lover when he heard an anguished cry come from the back of the house. Horatio was up and out of the hammock in seconds, pausing only long enough to grab the 9mm that was stashed nearby and followed Speed as they ran towards the sounds of screaming and yelling.

The sight shocked them both. Gil was standing over an ant hill slamming a shovel over and over into the ground. Speed rushed up to him and pulled him back, while Horatio grabbed the shovel.

“No, they must die, they’re too close to the house,” Gil struggled. “I can’t let them near the house, they bite and I’ll lose you.”

Horatio looked over at the smashed hill when realization hit him. Fire ants. He took the shovel and slammed it directly into the hill and with Speed’s help pulled the upset man back.

“Gil,” Horatio cupped his cheeks. “I promise we’ll get an exterminator out here to destroy the nest and every last one of those ants.”

“I hate ants.” Grissom said his body slacking from the drop in adrenaline.

Speed held him as they fell to the ground. “We got you.”

“I want them gone, they took Nicky and I don’t want them here.” Grissom leaned back into Tim’s arms. “I want them gone.”

Horatio knelt in front of his lover, running a hand through his hair. “I promise you they will be gone.” Gil looked at him with sad blue eyes. “We made a deal remember? I wouldn’t lie to you ever.”

He nodded. “I’m sorry.”

The redhead forced him to look at him. “Don’t be. Never be sorry for the love you have for Nick.”

Grissom nodded. “I…”

“Let’s go inside,” Speed helped Gil up. “Let Horatio help you clean up, I’ll fix a light dinner, and you can show me the new bug you’re hiding from me.”

Horatio held out his hand. “Told you he would know.”

“It’s a fine bug,” Grissom took the offered hand and let Horatio lead him to their master suite.

Gil work up startled. He looked over to his side to see Tim curled up next to him, but was surprised to feel Horatio behind him, his arm draped over Gil’s waist. Usually their young lover slept in the middle. He sighed and settled back down between them. They had taken care of him throughout the evening. Horatio’s caress and sensual touches during their shower, his hands working Gil’s erection until he came with a sob. When the older man had turned to take care of his lover, the redhead had smiled and said he was fine. Grissom blushed slightly realizing Horatio had just gotten off listening to the sounds he had made.

Tim had cooked a simple meal and the three ate it inside their suite enjoying each others’ company. His two lovers listened intently to his ramblings about the new bug he had found and soon he had found himself snuggled between them, just content to be held. Horatio had whispered softly, I love you, into his ear as Gil slipped into an easy sleep. He sat up and looked at the redhead, and realized that he did love him. No it wasn’t like he did Nicky or Tim, but not any less. He sighed, a bit confused and conflicted.

He was able to slip out from between the two of them and pulled on his robe and shoes and headed outside into the balmy night air. It had been over two years since he lost Nicky, a man he had loved with all of his heart. And now, he glanced back at the quiet house, he was in a relationship with two men. Men he loved, differently but equally. How could he betray Nick like that?

“You’re not betraying me.”

Gil turned and stared at the person standing in front of him. “Nicky?”

“Hi Gil.” He gave him a bright smile.

“But…” Grissom shook his head. “It’s really you.”

“I’m only here for a short time,” he reached out and ran a hand down his lover’s cheek. “Let them love you.”

“I miss you.” Gil held the hand that was caressing. “So much.”

“I miss you, too.” Nick pulled his lover close and held him tight. “One day we’ll be together and have eternity.”

“I want that now,” He held him tight.

“Do you really?” the Texan smiled at him. “What about Tim and Horatio?”

“They would be fine without me,” Gil pointed out.

“You believe that?” Nick looked into the soft blue eyes. “That your death would mean nothing to them?”

He turned away from those familiar eyes, knowing the truth he was saying. “I love you so much.”

“I know,” he smiled. “But I didn’t want to see you wallow in your own guilt and pain. I worked hard to make sure you would be looked after and happy.”

“So you did orchestrate all this,” Grissom eyed him.

Nick gave him a bright smile. “Worked out well if I do say so myself. Though I admit the added bonus of Horatio wasn’t quite part of the plan, but in the end it was perfect.”

“How long do you get to stay?” Gil laid his head on the strong shoulder.

“Not long,” he ran a soothing hand through the soft graying locks. “I want you to let go of the last of your guilt and live your life to the fullest with those two men.”

He looked at his young lover and nodded. “And when the time comes?”

“I’ll be there, to bring you across, and then we’ve got eternity to explore.” Nick gave him a soft kiss. “I’m always here.” He stepped back and faded into the dark night. “Farewell, Gil.”

Gil took a deep breath, a sense of calm contentment washing over him, smiling as he whispered his goodbye.

Horatio shifted as he felt the bed move, his eyes opening to see Gil smiling at him before leaning over and kissing him softly. The redhead moaned, his mouth opening as he lazily dueled with the hot tongue. He pulled Gil down to him, rolling him slightly as his thigh pushed between his legs, rubbing the hardening erection.

Gil ran his hand through the bright red hair and kissed him harder, the passion coming to the surface as the two rocked against each other, hands roaming over their heated bodies. Horatio pulled back slightly panting. “Hey.”

“I love you too.” Gil smiled at him. “I wanted you to know that.”

The redhead gave him a bright smile, his eyes shining. “I…”

“Shhh,” Grissom smirked. “Or we’ll wake Tim.”

“Already awake and just waiting for you two to continue the show,” Speed smirked at them. “And for the record, I love the both of you, despite your tendencies to blow things up and bring weird bugs into the house.”

The two men smirked at each other then back at their younger lover. Tim frowned then yelped as he was pounced. Their laughter turned to soft gasps and moans. And they spent not just that night, but the rest of their lives together loving each other, and living life to the fullest.
