Most people moved out of his way because they thought he was drunk or insane, or possibly both. But today they moved out of his way for an entirely different reason.
There was something in his eyes.
They didn’t hold that normal playful insanity. They were cold and dead. His walk didn’t hold its usual swagger; it held a firm gait with a dark determination.
He stopped in front of the two soldiers, sending them off with a sneer and a glare. Stepping into the office his eyes swept the room casually, landing on the one occupant behind the mahogany desk.
“Why Sparrow I’m a bit surprised to see you.” Norrington looked up from his paperwork and eyed the Pirate with disdain.
“Commodore.” His voice was serious giving the other man a pause. “This isn’t idle chitchat.”
James smirked as he leaned back in his chair. “Ah, this is about Mr. Turner.”
Jack pulled out his gun and aimed at the Commodore. “This is about revenge.”
“He was hung for crimes of piracy!” James stood up and glared at the Pirate. “As you will be.”
“Oh no James, I won’t be hung for piracy, I’ll be hung for murder.” Jack’s head tilted slightly. A smile that could only be described as insane graced his features. “You should feel honored, Commodore. I’ve only used this pistol on one other.” He cocked back the hammer. “He stole the Pearl, my heart. You stole my Will, my soul.”
A single shot rang out.
Captain Jack Sparrow turned around and held up his hands in surrender as the guards ran into the office. “Let it be known that this is the day you almost captured Captain Jack Sparrow.”
They never saw the small gun until it was in his hands. A second shot rang out and the once feared Pirate Captain of the Caribbean fell only to search once more for his heart and soul.
